Improved Life Tap?

Anyone know how this works in TBC? I keep reading online that this talent increases both the mana gained AND the damage done to yourself by lifetap by 20%, i.e. keeping the 1:1 ratio and just increasing the overall potency.

But my actual testing seems to reflect otherwise. Anyone know for sure?

The tooltip on the talent only says mana returned by 10/20% … I don’t think it hurts any more than it does untalented.

It is bonus mana. It doesn’t make you take more damage.
