Hello, I just wanted to create a thread on the ongoing problem with bots and node respawn timers. I was just on my warrior in Un Goro and spent and hour circling the outer map looking for mining nodes. Not one node appeared in the 1 hour I spent there. I know this topic has been beaten to death, but the influx of bots plus player competition makes nearly impossible to level up professions the legitimate. This is annoying because I work a full time job and have responsiblites and I have NEVER once even thought about buying gold until today. Blizzard you need to come up with a solution this is getting so ridiculous it’s not even funny.

Not having issues on Nightslayer in Un Goro at all. Leveled just fine with a few laps. I didn’t even see any bots.
It’s the layering on mega servers. Too many players and bots competing for the nodes. We all grew up in a wow that didnt have these zone layered mega servers that pack each zone full of people so its not the same experience we remember.

You’ll change your mind when you see the current prices of RMT gold.
The gold sellers are eating better right now than they ever have before. Unlimited boosts, crap gear, no epic riding, no gold. Demand for gold is at an all time high.
Whoever decided against adding the wow token into the game during tbc pre patch is costing Blizz a ridiculous amount of money.

Sounds like youre doing it wrong. I levelled mining on my alt with zero problems aside from a string of bad luck not getting skillups when mining or smelting just before I got into thorium.
100% agree impossible to lvl since blizzard let boosting happen, 50+ players in each area farming thorium, blizzard only had 20 years to fix their problems. Beyond crazy to pay monthly for a game you cant play due to the company

The boosters who didn’t have time to level all have time to circle the entire world looking for mining nodes.

Why do people use 2005 vanilla strategies in 2026? We’re on a megaserver with horribly managed layers so learn to abuse that fact.
I sat in the ogre cave in Bad Lands mining mithril/iron/truesilver hopping layers until 275 then went to the cave with the cultists in NW Searing Gorge and did Dark Iron Ore and Small Thorium until 300.
There is 0 reason to be running around following a 20 year old profession leveling guide.
Also OP you don’t say what class you are. Stealth class, mage and hunter can all easily farm out 300 mining in BRD on Dark Iron Ore.

Ores gonna be dirt cheap with all the bots blizzard doens’t ban mining
My 60 had 300 Mining/Skinning. Now 300 LW/Skinning. Decided to make my own Gear and not have to worry about Bots ect taking anything.
Also have 300 Fishing/Cooking so I should do ok in TBC. The Gold will eventually come for Epic Flying ect. Just going to enjoy the fresh TBC.

mining and herbalism are busted. outlands is gona be rough with this pitiful number of layers blizzard has given us on this MEGA server

Thanks for the tips.
But I gotta wonder. Why would letting bots run wild be ok? It sure doesn’t make for a very fun experience. Guide or no guide it just dirties up the game. Bot gone wild - Warcraft edition.
Not that I care that much. If it’s a problem, I’ll do something else.

Ethics or morality aside, what difference does it make to any given individual if there are bots or not?
Like, if you’re on a layer with enough other gatherers, is it going to matter either way?
And for the record, yes, yes ban all the bots, and/or anybody who breaks EULA, etc.
You shouldn’t be leveling mining because you will make zero gold.
The bots will get all the nodes.
Find a different profession
The only way to level mining is through dungeons. I just kept doing jump runs
