Impossible to enchant things at low levels...?

Every enchant below 50/60 now says “Cannot be applied to items level 50 or higher”, meaning ilvl. At level 20-25 the ilvl of items is around 60-70… and many of these enchants also require level 30+ to be used in the first place. Are old enchants just completely useless now in that I literally can’t apply it to anything??

Dont bother enchanting anything below lvl 70 … since it will be replaced in like 2 lvls

They’re a bit of a convoluted mess and I’d recommend not thinking about them unless you’re opting into playing a twink bracket or something.

I had an enchant on a level 20 alt that was better than what we had in SL, I think.

This is mostly for heirlooms. Noticing some enchants even say “Cannot be used above level 0” which is …bizarre.

It’s just not worth the trouble to enchant your leveling gear, heirlooms or not.

They somehow reverted the enchant scaling and decided not to tell anyone, so now it’s just not worth it unless you can find a chart somewhere of what actually still works.

They didn’t revert the scaling, they smoothed out ilvl increases over the expansions with the release of Dragonflight, but didn’t update the cutoff point that ensures old enchants aren’t BiS in new content. 50 made sense before Dragonflight. Now it screws everything up.

Which means you can enchant a little bit at like level 10-16 if you aren’t getting WoD Warforged Gear and then you’re cut off until current content.

(couple exceptions in the middle for a specific slot or 2 but nothing notable The only one coming to mind is the BfA weapon enchants, I think it was, which cut off at like ilvl 140 instead.)

The enchants I’ve been able to use don’t scale up when I level up anymore.

Oh that’s what you meant, maybe in the case, idk.

Dancing steel for weapons str/agil. Jade spirit for int.

Stat to chest, I used SL version.

Mop shoulder enchant.

Mop leg enchants

SL ring enchants

Agil + move speed/stam to cloak

Mark of the claw/mark of the priestess neck enchant

I can tell you first hand, some may not scale. But you don’t need them too.

use a high level character to enchant them, so the item level of the heirlooms is as high as possible.
then mail them to the alt.

sure it is.
if you’ve got an enchanter and a bank full of mats, there’s no reason to not use them.

most enchants cap out at the level of their equivalent expansion.

I’ve seen the heirlooms then have the enchant in red, because it doesn’t work. I don’t know if that’s true for all of them, but I’ve had experience with that happening.
