So far Wowhead received the following data from Asian Servers regarding the Anniversary event:

Low droprate - Presumably 1%, but not enough data at the moment to be certain
Push-loot when you kill [Doomwalker], cannot be traded
Seemingly Daily lockout - To be confirmed tomorrow
Must be level 30 to be eligible to loot
Not required to pick up the quest Doomwalkin’ Has Come Knockin in-has-come-knockin) to loot the mount
Why we keep receiving this kind of drop rates on the game? If you’re going to implement bad luck protection for tier sets, and there’s already bad luck protection for some low drop mounts related to covenants that are sold for Offerings.
Please bring vendors or a clear goal on seasonal events and promote the other aspects of the game, a lot of people will notice the low drop rate and don’t come back to try the event, also this is a celebration of the game anniversary and the players, why don’t offer some new things on the current vendors? This Boss will be a lag fest instead of a good instance fight with mechanics and a 100% drop.
Imagine a challenge like the mage tower for this boss with a small group, like a raid fight for 5 instead of spikes of latency, that could make the mount rare because of the difficult to beat the fight instead of a “rarety” for the low drop rate that it’s philosophy that must change.
I’ll just use 40+ alts in order to get the mount, but players with few characters have less opportunities for this kind of rewards, what’s the point of creating new things if only less that 5% of the player base worldwide will get it.
Because people have been singing the praises of Timeless Isle since the day it was introduced.
And 1% drop rates was what Timeless Isle was (plus 4 hour respawn timers to get a shot at the 1% drop rates).
I hate what Timeless Isle introduced to the game. But as long as people keep holding it up as this gold standard of content, we will continue to get 1% drop rates on long timers.
This comes from Vanilla, these are the lessons from their predecessors devs “love rocket, sha of anger, 500 prestige honor, headless horseman” there’s a lot of goals on game only obtained by 5% or less player base some examples even 0.5% or less.
that doesn´t promote a game for new players, the rewards should be something that you could achieve on a good time period, also it’ll better if the reward is a new model but that’s another topic.
Low rng chance on limited time content is not ok, it will be slightly more ok if we KNOW it will return in future anniversaries but we don’t. Regardless it’s still trash.
It’ll return but that’s not a solution, it continues the same rng model of love rocket, headless horseman, the only good thing added is a mount that will cause lag spikes and it’s not a good reward for the broad playerbase.
Imagine new players trying to get this low drop rate, compared to people with army of alts.
People can do some events and get toys and mounts on other games with free trial accounts, they don´t know how to engage players.
Actually that’s why that mount has more % on the playerbase, Devs should change it back to that way, so we can farm that one and love rocket without depending on alts, it’ll remain rare for people but new players, alt alcoholics…etc could farm it on same conditions.
I’ve almost stopped grinding those 1% mounts because I’m busier than I used to be, and my time is valuable to me. Makes me pretty bummed to not have as many opportunities as higher drop rate mounts.
yeah. I haven’t swung by to smack arthas around of late. touching up alts deemed a better use of time. Saw him 5 chars a week at least since I don’t even want to think about it.

Fighting it once, just for the fun of it. Not gonna farm that mount. My days of farming rare mounts is over, because it’s a waste of time. I’m getting too old to have the patience for it.
