Main hasn’t gotten one yet… normal , heroic nothing. You’re pretty lucky.
I don’t get why Blizzard hates giving us weapons.
Getting a weapon in BFA was often a pain too. Fortunately you could at least get something to start with from the occasional weapon emissary. But I definitely believe weapons have lower drop rates than armor pieces, all of which have lower drop rates than that stupid cloak off Shriekwing.
If you’re doing M+ you’ve got like a 20% chance per week to get a weapon, somewhere in that ballpark range. Whiffing a 20% chance 10 times is pretty unlucky.
They want it to feel special. The logic itself is somewhat sound but the implementation is certainly questionable at times.
The “special” wears off when one doesn’t get an upgrade for weeks.
Yes I guess I’m very unlucky.
Fixed that for you.
Almost as if…the system is stacked against players on purpose…
Either that or that 20% is a completely made up number you pulled from your nether.
It’s vaguely made up but sounds ballpark reasonable to me. The actual chance to get one specific loot item is approximately ~4.5% chance with 3 cache slots, and there’s usually like 4-5 weapons per spec on the loot table, so while it doesn’t line up exactly, it is ball-park in that range.
And yet many MANY people claim they haven’t seen a weapon since the start of the great vault. Seems more like the RNG is purposely stacked against the players. Why are you defending it?
No, it doesn’t “seem” like that at all. You just have people who flipped a coin and got tails 4 times thinking that the coin is rigged.
I’ve opened close to 30 cache boxes across my characters and the outcomes seem pretty much inline with complete randomness. Sometimes great, sometimes awful, and overall across that many boxes meeting what would be your average mathematical expectation. I could look at small clusters of data and yell “rigged” but that ignores the bigger picture.
Yea I wouldn’t know weapons existed if I didn’t see them drop for others.
in a way it is, but not how you are thinking.
there is only 12 weapons in the whole raid thats a very, very small chance of it dropping.
lets do some math I will use my ret as example.
for my ret there is only 2 weapon tokens from all the loot and they are both in different bosses. so let’s say when generating loot all the bosses have the same chance, that’s 20% for each slot to be the right boss.
both of them have 4 possible loot and only 1 is the weapon, since they are equal we can just add all together to 25% of it being a weapon, 25% of 20% is 5% and since they are independently of each other the math ends there.
every week you have 3 5% chance of dropping a weapon, not very impressive at all.
Of course it doesn’t seem like that at all to someone who defends every decision Blizzard makes.
I wish we had data for the bigger picture. I still think the system is rigged against the players.
My luck ran out lol
More deterministic rewards, please, valor isn’t good enough
