Just curious: I cap out at around 12 imps for demo. I see some rotational strats get up to 20. Just curious how people get that many. Do you drop hands at 1 or 2 shards? I thought you only drop at 3. Are you holding felstalkers and prioritizing hand? I always use felstalkers on CD aside from when Vilefiend is about to come up before I pop Tyrant. Do you have an ungodly amount of haste?
I looked at the one stop shop but I do not see a priority that gets you to 20.
Generally speaking I only cast demon bolt procs when I know I am going to gain both shards unless I have to dump charges or they will expire. Are you using soul strike over vilefiend?
This is for PVE.
My max is 18 as far as I recall.
Most say 20 demons that includes your felguard, summoned felguard, vilefiend, 2 dread stalkers tyrant +12 to 16 or so imps during hero/bloodlust. You don’t maintain 20 imps out in base rotation. Maybe with the new demon trait that gives you 5 shards when you summon your tyrant you can get that many out every tyrant rotation but your not going to sustain that many in most fights.
This will be do to a number of reasons, fights don’t last long enough or mechanics force you to move and stop casting. Its a ball park number to strive for… not a make or break amount of imps for the spec to work.
Another thing is when you cast Tyrant, having to demon cores before you start your rotation helps… something like.
5 shards+2 demon cores.
Cast dreads, hand of guldan, shadow bolt (demoncore), vile fiend, summon felguard, shadow bolt (demon core), shadow bolt, hand of guldan, tyrant, then spam shadow bolt till 3 then hand or dread stalkers as you should get another 2 dread stalkers during tyrant giving you 4 dreads up at one time.
If your still having issues then its most likely a haste issue or mechanics.
Thanks. So you also hold tyrant until you have two core procs?
depends on the fight. For burn phase in raids yes I always time it so I have all cool downs up and time it so the dreads despawn just before burn phase.

Don’t hold tyrant. Try to save 2 procs for tyrant instead.
In most raid fights you will get 2 to 3 tyrant rotation at least… but only one hero/bloodlust burn rotation. Most guilds have set times when this will happen. So you should be setting up your rotations times to have all main cool downs ready for that burn phase. other wise you should be using them as they come off cool down or soon after. Like if Vile Fiend, Felguard and tyrant are with in 20 sec or so then ill hold for them both as they don’t sync all the time. but if getting close to a burn phase ill hold on till that happens.
