IMMERSION. What little feature would you add?

What little feature would you add to make the game feel more immersive? Not something huge like removing flying.

For example, I’d like to see random dungeon finder drop you in front of the instance portal so you know the zone it’s in and can feel it as part of the world.

Something a bit bigger scale would be changing portals to be activated by NPCs on static transports, a bit like Siren Isle. Instead of a portal room it’d be set up at transit hubs like the Stormwind Docks.

Thoughts?

Render the character model in first person.

Regular updates to the world to show the passage of time. I don’t think the world update in cata was a mistake.

Every expansion should have at least a small questline specific to each race. Just to show something going on in their part of the world.

Probably not small changes, but whatever.

I’d like non-combat NPCs to flee and hide when combat happens nearby.

When I sheep a guard, I want the guard next to him to react.

Leaving your mount next to you for 5min after you dismount, so you can mount back by clicking on it.
(Being able to pet it or something of a sort)
Could be visible only to the player and party members, so it’s not chaotic.

I think Blizzard needs to go harder on Warbands.

Like for example you can go to your camp and order your other toons to do their profession without relogging. Or perhaps you can ask a toon to go out and find a resource if they have a gathering profession. Make it a lot slower than if you do it yourself, obviously.

Maybe have the option to have an alt tag along as a follower.

Limit the warband members to four toons to keep the economy under control and you can only access the warband if your current character is a member of the warband.

This is a good suggestion.

Not for like five minutes, think 60 seconds is probably good enough.

I didn’t know I wanted this but now I really do.

  2. More medieval mood, less modern disco party.

Real weather. I’m talking thick fog at night, wind gusts that alter your flight path slightly, icicles forming and breaking off of buildings, and snow falling and pilling up right before your eyes. Thunder that makes buildings shake and lightning that starts fires and burns trees down.

more character customizations like dark ranger and manari for draenei. red orcs, leper gnomes, forest trolls

I would give certain race/class combos their own starter area and possibly a different “tag.”

A great example is Draenei Warlocks (both of them). They would get their own starter area and they would no longer say “Draenei” or “Lightforged Draenei” when you mouse over them. Instead they would say “Eredar.”

A day/night cycle not tied to IRL time.

I work thirds. I’ve seen a night sky in-game and in life for the last several years since I try to keep the same sleep schedule on my off days. Please Blizz, let met get some sunlight in-game.

On top of this, race-specific special effects for classes. Among a million other examples a tauren “paladin” shouldn’t be hurling around the same holy hammers as an Alliance paladin, all that light stuff should look fiery and more natural like it’s coming from the sun.

This could even open up all sorts of class/race combos as long as it looks right.

I wish npcs would speak in their own language sometimes in dialogue. Like you walk by a bunch of trolls and they’re speaking their language so you’d only understand them in passing if you were also a troll.

Let the races gossip in their own language. That’d be fun.

Or negative interactions dependent on race and class. This doesn’t mean every NPC is a raging racist but I’m sure there’s still friction between Alliance and Horde, or troll and elf, or literally anyone and warlocks/death knights.

It’s good to see some of this in TWW already.

This is a tiny one:

You know those chauffeured mounts? The ones where an NPC drives the mount for you?

When you choose to summon the chauffeured mount, I would like a quick animation where the chauffeur drives up and you quickly hop in.

Dismounting would be hopping out and your chauffeur drives off.

Care to elaborate? Sounds cool.

At least some items should have physics. When you walk into a chair it should tip over. When you walk around a mushroom, instead of getting stuck behind it and having to hearth away, you should be able to kick it over and squish it, just like a real mushroom.
