What would give you more immersion in the game?
I was thinking:
Less Cooperation Between Races-
Not dividing the current factions and their allies but more where if you are a dwarf you have alot of race specific quests outside of heritage armor or vanilla zone quest clearing. Something where you and other dwarves go to a large zone and complete daily modern quests/timed events. Learn old lore and create new lore possibly so its less focused on Main-story lore but expanding the race sidestory lore.(could act as its own layer so its not dead for certain realms)
Reworking the Ground mount system similar to other games-
Unsure if i can say the name of the 2games in mind but do it with a WoW Twist and create less flymount zones(Im aware of the undermines) unless the story requires it like âThe worldboss/dragon destroyed the bridge. Hop on x mount and fly to the top of the mountain to fight it.â Could even do the system another game was in the talks of which is create a more structured road system and give ground mount speed increase on the roads so you meet more players or see more in general and the world feels less empty.
Better peer to peer trade system-
Remove vendors or make them alot less efficient gold farms for bots and have less verticality for gathering and make the spawns areas more random and less routed by bots or experienced players with addons that tell them where the specific things spawn at.
Crafting rework-
Make heirlooms craftable by people with max profession and have them sellable on AH or crafting orders so you can make someone BiS for leveling a new character with custom set bonuses from any xpac that scale till x lvl so someone cant abuse it at max lvl(btw if this already exists im sorry lol) but itd be cool because the market for this grows with each season with every season bringing a new set bonus. You could even tie old set bonuses in with timewalking vendor rewards or let players who have equipped that set bonus in the past automatically have it unlocked or goto old zones and farm em.

Hard pass. lol.
some zones on occasion without flight are ok, but we dont need a pattern of flight hate emerging in this game again by ion and crew.

i dont think of it as flight hate but if blizz did go the 50/50 route on ground and flight for new zones i think thatâd be really cool. i love seeing other people while i explore an area that was meant to be explored. sometimes when i fly i feel like im missing so much beauty in the zone or will be alot slower than other players and even miss timed world events. some zones are so vertically hard to navigate that flying is almost a must. but i do agree with you. i wouldnt want it gone entirely
More class and race based storylines. Doing the Witness of the Kirinâtor quest line on my mage a few months ago made me miss doing story content that really focused on my class.
Doing it on my warrior made me feel like the orangutan driving the golf cart meme.

id be ok with things like in DF where the one area warned that you were about to be shot downâŚor being shot down over unfriendly areas. But more than a single small zone per expansion without flight, not interested and hopefully they dont bother.
Players who want the âimmersionâ of not having flight can always ground hoof it. I do it all the time when I want to see some dirt for a change of pace.
id agree but honestly theres too much of a GO GO GO system in place where if you aint first your last. part of the beauty in gathering is being familiar with an area and site seeing on your way to the next area. but if all gathering areas are also flight areas that means you are just bouncing node to node. not really looking at the site/art but more so just staring at ur minimap and finding all the node spawns. if it was more random ur eyes would be solely on the things around you scanning the area and finding these things on ur own. Ik part of the solution is to uninstall the addon showing you the nodes but then you fall into the problem of significantly lowering ur Rate per hour on gathering which means less gold. Maybe theres a middleground where you keep the expanded side stories zones i mentioned as more of a social/gathering hub aswell with much explore elements and then the flying zones for mainstory content and warmode.
anyways ima hop off here, its one of those agree to disagree things so i appreciate ur opinion, take care
also id love to ground hoof tww zones but holy crap that would be impossible almost everywhere lol

Youâre in a pretty small minority there. I like Undermine, and I had no problem not being able to fly on the Siren Isle at first, but I absolutely do not want half the zones of an expansion to not allow flight. Thatâs a terrible idea and I know that many people would flat out quit over something like that.
Also, if youâre concerned about missing the âbeauty of the worldâ (which I have no problem seeing as I fly around), you can play all of WaWi from a ground mount. There are pathways for ground mounts that connect all the zones. You can ride from Dornogal to the City of Threads on your horsey if you want.

if 30-50% of the zones were ground mount only and you dont like that wouldnt you just avoid that and goto fly zones? why would you quit if that happen
Bring back the rain. Iâve been playing Classic a bit more recently, and the heavy rainfall back then and hazy draw distance is very nice.

So you want me to just hate half of an expansion from release because you and a few other people think half an expansion should be ground mount only? Why would I have bought WaWi if Hallowfall and Azj-Kahet were no fly zones? Were you dropped on your head as a child?

Idk, you said you liked undermines and enjoyed not flying in siren isles. I dont see what would be ur issue with just not playing in zones you have a love/hate relationship with if im going off what you just said
The main thing that kills all my immersion is flying, but thatâs a nono viewpoint on the forums

You can choose not to fly.
Why stop others travelling more efficiently?

Ya i wish i knew why, WoW has been going a current direction that broadens its audience and try to cater to everyone which is a good and bad thing so when people say stuff like âYou type of players are a super small minorityâ i think the reality is almost every viewpoint besides mythic plus is a super small minority cause the brush is so broad with the current game. Thats honestly the main reason its so fun for so many. I love flying but i also really enjoy the slow pace of ground mount being built into certain areas for players who like ground mounts. most of the racial passives involving mounts is for ground mounts lol. But ya i agree i love the immersion being up close to stuff with zones designed around not seeing cool stuff so far away up in the air on a mount(which looks like rainbow soup usually). Plus i dont think ppl who say fly mounts are immersion breaking are in some super small minority. alot of the people i meet share the same view as us too
Iâm not going to argue this point as itâs just my opinion
Efficiency matters more to me over flying, so if a more efficient option is there I will always take it. If there were no flying mounts the ground mount is the most efficient option which is what I prefer.
Itâs the same concept if they put myth gear on a vender for 50g, itâs the obvious efficient option and I would do it, yet I donât think it would make the game more fun

Player: âFlying kills my immersion!â
Same player: âWhy do I have to walk so far?â

Such a hard agree. Efficiency in a game designed around GO GO GO is usually a must for players, especially when the alternative puts you far behind someone else.

Get rid of addons and weak auras and design the content accordingly. I watch some people play and itâs like Iâm inside a space ship console with all the numbers and timers plastered all over the screen. I have a minimalist UI but I do have some timers and weak auras because youâre just handicapping yourself without themâŚbut I donât like the way they look.

I really donât want this crap to have ANY influence by the players. Let Blizzard have the call on that one.
Often times those who request âno flyingâ are the same people who are absolute idiots. Donât be one of them.
