I was playing main character in Ohn. Plains in Dragon Isles, doing a world quest ( kill 50 flying insects quest ), when my game suddenly froze and disconnected. Not the first time this has happened, but usually I can just reconnect and it’s fine. This time, it is just instant disconnect, over and over. I used the Move Stuck Character self-service, and was moved to a nearby location. But the problem persists; as soon as my actual game screen loads, it freezes, and I am immediately disconnected.
I have tried several ways to fix it, but nothing has worked.
I tried logging in to my main character on a different computer, and the same problem happens; instant disconnect when the game screen loads.
As a test, I created a level 1 alt character and that one is just fine; I am able to play the new character in Northshire with no issues.
It’s my level 70 character in the Dragon Isles which can not be accessed.
The page for Contact Support has technical requirements like “Tracer Route” and another file, which I do not understand and don’t know how to do.
So I am stuck.
I can’t contact support because I don’t have the technical expertise, and my main character remains lost to me.
Can anyone help?
Maybe if my character could be moved to a safer place, that would fix the problem? It used to be that stuck characters were moved to Westfall, near Stormwind city.
Thanks for your reply. I did use the Move Stuck Character self-service. My character was moved to a new location, but the problem remains. I still get disconnected immediately when the game loads. My other alt character is not having that problem.
Only my main character is getting immediately disconnected.
Other than that, make sure all addons are disabled when attempting to log in. If these things don’t work and the issue persists, then make sure to submit a support ticket. Contact Support - Blizzard Support (battle.net)
Tried everything I could find and figure out, but no good. Still disconnects immediately when I try to load the game for my main character.
I finally figured out how to create the two files that Support wants attached when submitting a ticket. I wrote a description of the problem. Clicked the Submit button, and… the ticket will not submit. Just sits there and spins … then a message appears on the page and says Error, Ticket Not Submitted, Try Again Later.
I’m having the same exact issue, with the same exact quest. I flew into the wind thing and hit my space key and ever since it’s been dcing me none stop. I can log onto other chars just not my main one, I hope it somehow gets fixed.
Yes Alorisstar, exactly. Hugely frustrating. It’s been almost 24 hours now since it happened, and I am still instantly disconnected when I try to play my main lvl 70 character.
My low-level alt character, playing near SW city, is okay; there the game loads and can be played. But in the dragon isles, instant freeze and disconnect, over and over and over.
It was apparently the dragon-flying at high speed among the bugs for the world quest, that caused the melt-down.
I have used the self-service Move Stuck Character three times. No effect, still broken.
What’s even worse is that I have tried several times to submit a ticket to Support, and not even that works! The ticket won’t send; I get an error message on the Support page, saying " connection problem", try again later.
So here we are, stuck, disconnected …and can’t even contact Support to tell them we need help.
Give that a shot, no files needed. If that still won’t submit I would try using a different browser or clearing your cache, or use a different computer or connection, like try from your phone.
Tofflemire, thanks very much for that link; it worked and I was able to submit the support ticket.
It’s been 48 hours now since my main character froze and the disconnection began.
I am hoping that a live person in tech support sees my ticket and can fix the problem, soon.
I’m having the exact same issue with this character. Its been several hours and I am not able to submit a support ticket by any means - this is very poor that they just stick you in an endless loop without ability to escalate
It is specific to this character and using character unstuck doesnt help. I had it briefly with another character but it resolved itself after a few minutes. This one with Pandorym is far more persistent
