And my point still stands. Dal’rend doesn’t even matter if you can walk into Onyxia on day 5 and pick up a Vis’kag–invalidating all the progression that you would have otherwise had to do.
That’s not how it works though.
Viskag has a stupid low drop rate. There are also probably 15-20 melee who need Viskag in your raid.
As an rsham in classic pve, the only items iI wore out of MC were Malistars, and the wild growth spaulders. Pretty much everything else was prebis.
As a matter of fact it was the same in BWL. I wore mostly prebis minus lokamir and 3pc t2.
Prebis healing robes are biss until naxx
Weapons from raids are not as common as you think. Especially when only MC/Ony is out
In 2019 my warrior walked into MC on my first week of hitting 60. I was still wearing a Stoneslayer when I got Earthshaker. It’s not that it’s a rare occurrence–it’s that it happens and it invalidates progression (literally the whole point we play this game).
But did the other warriors get Earthshaker?
Getting something on the first reset is purely luck.
You STILL need to farm your prebis because weapons are not guaranteed. You don’t know when they will drop let alone getting them.
Delaying MC doesn’t do anything. You still need to farm prebis.
Earthshaker isn’t even a good weapon. You arent going to use it in raids and reaper is better for pvp really. We gave it to tanks cause its a bad weapon.
The whole point of the game is to gear up. If I wear prebis till AQ, what is MC doing to invalidate my prebis farm if all my prebis is better than mc?
If we’re talking comparatively, an Earthshaker is miles better than a Stoneslayer, regardless of whether you consider it a good weapon.
However, you do make good points, and I wore plenty of blue items even with a BRE.
Now, if blizzard progressed the servers patch by patch, rather than 1.12 6 phases, everything would be entirely different
I agree.
I was dismayed by the post-nerf AV.
I even equipped BRE thinking it still applied a debuff…
In p1 for a lot of classes some dungeon items are just better than mc pieces, people still run dungeons in p1 to try get their full pre-bis whilst upgrading some items throughout mc. With 40 players all trying to get gear you don’t gear up through raids anywhere near as quickly as you do in wrath. There’s definitely some good loot in mc and for some classes it’s solid, but there’s loads of absolute junk.
I would love a vanilla+ where blizzard actually spends some time (and money I guess). Working on gear that is obviously not tune correctly. I dont want a rehash of classic with 15 Fury Wars, Paladins in cloth gear, and healers passing on mc gear cuz their blues are better.
As much as I love vanilla and played the hell out of classic. I have zero interest in a classic 2 w/o changes. Good luck to all you guys that do.
