If you know or have heard about me, you might be aware that I often express a dislike for a class combination added in Cataclysm. Tauren Paladins.
If you read about their story, these brave sun warriors are a quite interesting class/race/character concept and if you work your effort, I’m pretty sure you can make it work.
Yet, with a class that is so human-centric, there are little irksome things that are missing, little things that could be improved upon to showcase they are following their way rather than the Church of Light. This irksome feeling grew when Zandalari paladins were presented, but their loa was absent in their spells. If we are even to consider night elf paladins, I imagine the Kaldorei enjoyers would want these paladins to use the silver moonlight of Elune over golden spell effects.
If void elves and undead ever get a paladin…
Do you see where I am going with this, perhaps a second questline like the fel fire (green fire) one in Mists of Pandaria would be a good addition to this game, would you personally be interested if it were to be implemented again in World of Warcraft?
This twitter artist has an amazing thread about some of these concepts.
Completely. The many races of Warcraft have different takes on the classes, so spell effects are a great way to differentiate them. Imagine how dope would be a Dark Iron paladin with some fire/red effect on their spells.
When changed character models back in WoTLK, spell effects seem quite difficult, so I can imagine that being one of the main reasons why it ain’t in their pipeline.
Then again, we got four new colored spells per class this expansion.
I was just thinking about the complexity involved in creating a new spell but simple things should be fine right? [Glyph of Orangsicle] Your frost spells are now orange
Creating a whole new animation I could see there being a bit of work but just changing the color should be reasonable I’d think
