Imagine having

Around 135 well builded and detailed maps, with their own histories, fauna, characters and buildings, and only focus your efforts on just 4 maps each expansion and just to use only ONE map per patch after an expansion is launch and leaving the 100ish maps to be just “filler” in the background.

Some trapped in a time loop after almost 15 years

Imagine a game company doing that, wasting all that effort and work its like shoot yourself in the foot dont you think ?

lol.

I feel like you’re trying to make a point, though I’m not sure what it is. That we should never go anywhere new?

Not everything they make is final

If they want to not use said things then they don’t use it

I don’t see you throwing hands for old outland

i mean yeah it’s a bit silly. but i also wouldnt expect them to go back and use every single zone in the game in every expansion. going back and tying in events with current expansions is nice though, like arathi and darkshore in BfA (cant believe i’m using that expansion as a good example but here we are)

Imagine updating all 135 of those every two years.

Each of those zone individually (all server combined) has more footstep than you can even begin to imagine … each nook and cranny saw some pvp action , some afk action , some pve action , some rp action , etc …

They occasionally do use them in current expansion for X reasons . They working on more and more timewalking , giving rep bonus to bring us back to those zones …

Imo the best way to re-use those zone would be to template them for bgs , easy maps , new pvp content every patch!(releasing them 2-3 at a time)

Imagine someone creating a game that remains popular enough to actually develop these problems…

Right now WoW is the only one

To sidestep a hair but sort of stay on point, I do wish they would address some bugs in older zones.

I had forgotten many of them since I had an established account of max level toons for years, but going back now on a fresh account, I run into quite a few annoying bugs that I know will just never be fixed.

Most notably are just the occasional quest that won’t count. Do everything right, just won’t count, so I have to drop and do it all over. Often I can’t even figure out what went wrong. Like, the quest NPC will just stop talking, or I’ll do something and the NPC will react appropriately, but it won’t have counted. Etc…

When you are questing through Frostfire and get to the Thunderlord Garrison invasion, it bugs out a lot. The mobs will stay on top of the walls and never jump down. If you’re on a melee class, you just can’t complete it. lol

But I digress. Would be nice to see some freshening up of the Cata zones at least. Maybe they could pick a few zones per expac and spruce up some.
