I have always had a love for hunters - especially vanilla hunters. Although they don’t bring the most damage, their play style always has me coming back for more. Not only that, they are great at leveling, and really good at farming gold.
However, I was a main tank in Legion and fell in love with Prot warrior tanking. As you all probably know, prot warriors have the most viability as main tank in classic, with the correct gear and stat priority they are the ideal tank for most situations.
That being said, I will more than likely play both… I’m just unsure of where to start. I think Hunter, simply because of their gold farming methods. This will make a huge cushion for leveling my warrior and helping get crafted gear for any alts a decide to level.
What do you guys think? Any comment/suggestion will be read and taken into consideration.
Thanks for reading if you’ve made it this far.
I disagree. I feel like the first character is your best chance to ease the leveling process, since everyone will be leveling alongside you. There will be constant groups; you’ll never be solo. So the shortcomings of a class like warrior are rendered obsolete. Then later on when there’s less people leveling, and not as many groups you can bask in the hunter’s unrivaled leveling superiority.
See, that’s why I ask these questions here. This is a very good reason to level warrior first. With no disrespect to you or your insightful consideration, I still believe the gold income from my hunter will outweigh this issue.
I am interested to hear you response though, as this is not something I even thought of. Thank you.
You should play whatever it is you really feel you’ll enjoy the most. Attempting to level another class as a way to “feed” or “fund” another character is not efficient. Anyone not playing the class that they think they’ll have the most fun on is really missing out.
A great point. I am still probably going to choose hunter here, although I did read the entirety of the post you linked.
The reasoning here is I want to play both, I just want to do it in the “smartest” way possible, if that makes any sense. I know the leveling process takes a LONG time, but I have no plans of playing anything else once this is released, and will be able to put thousands of hours into WoW: Classic over the next few years.
do you like having a pet, selecting the best pet for you, and feeding it/naming it? or do you like being the tank of the group, protecting others to the best of your ability? which one calls to you the most? thats the one you should main.
If you plan to be a high end warrior though it’s more beneficial to ding 60 early so you get to make social connections with the other high end pve people early on running dungeons with them and preparing for raids.
If you level hunter first you are going to be late for the party with your main.
Doesn’t matter if you are going casual though.
i dont think she’ll be late for the party since many plan on taking their time and enjoying vanilla, levelling their professions, working the ah, running bgs, levelling various alts simultaneously (rested xp cycle). alot of retail fans of vanilla, are already mythic raiding and get their cutting edge fix there, and are coming to classic for the parts of the game that are missing/messed up/non-functional in retail.
Are you seriously trying to claim that the high end PVE players are going to “take their time” No my dear fella it’s going to be two weeks to level up and then preparing pre raid bis.
Like I said if going casual then it doesn’t matter and that is exactly what you described there.
