I'm starting over, I have no idea what I am doing in this game

I talked to a friend of mine, who plays this game and I have honestly been struggling with this game for a few years, and I want to start over and make a fresh start, so I made my OWN decision and deleted all of my toons and I feel much better about it because I want to take my time to be able to choose a class that I wanna play and enjoy, but now my only problem is, I have no idea what I want to play. I wish they had an option in the character create menu that says if the class is friendly or advanced class coz I honestly have no idea how to play or do stuff… This is my honest thing about myself. I’ve been playing WoW since 2009, and omst GMs that when I make a help section for asking for things, they always greet me with a friend veteran account smiley face. But I have honestly been not that great at this game nor any game for that matter My IQ is 75 I believe and thats being honest. I’m visually impaired in one eye and I have a hard time retaining things even in real life. I sometimes get discouraged because my friend expects me to be fantastic at end game and then I just give up and end the subscription and uninstall the game. I’ve tried many add-ons to fit my liking and I haven’t found one yet. I feel sometimes I have ADHD because I can never focus on a game or anything and it really saddens me but I do take medication. When I want to play WoW I just want to be able to enjoy a class and level and play end game content. But lately the community on end game has been very picky on what they want for mythic+ and I don’t bother. I’m guidless and I have no friends to play WoW with. My vision in my eyes are my left eye is 2060 and my right eye is all blurry … Soo, I don’t know what I could do to improve? I don’t know what class to play? I don’t know what i talk about half the time. I don’t know how to enjoy something. I just personally rant for no reason.

My suggestions:

1 - Make a Draenei Warlock, take the Burning Rush spell and upgrade it with all Talents that make it faster. This is the result:

2 - Do the questline to unlock Demon Draenei skins. They are hotter.

3 - Get yourself a Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion to complete the Green Fire Questline. That will make your fire spells green with Demon Power. That’s hotter.

4 - Farm the Tomb of Sargeras Dungeon to get the Orb of the Fel Temptress for a better Succubus minion.

5 - When you get to the War Within levels, choose the Diabolist Hero Spec. It will allow you to Summon a Mother of Chaos.

6 - Enjoy WoW to the fullest

Try the addon Hekili, its a rotation helper that suggests the next few spells to use. Its not great and requires some common sense about when to ignore it, but if you struggle with the game it can help take your focus off of thinking of what to press next and just worry about mechanics.

I don’t delete old toons, well not my oldest mains.

I do sympathize though- generally every new expansion, I’ll make a new alt from level one, and ā€˜learn to play’ the class all over again, especially if it’s a class I haven’t played in a while.

This character was made in TWW.

Things tend to change on an expansion-to-expansion basis, for rotations and stuff.

Never got into M+ in any prior expansion, but I’ll probably try more than usual this season, see if I enjoy it enough to push keys.

PvP for the mounts/mogs is usually my go-to activity.

I do hope you find some way to enjoy the game, honestly do.

But don’t force it, if it wasn’t meant to be, it just wasn’t aha. There’s always other games/hobbies.

Fury warrior or BM hunter honestly. Press glowing buttons as they happen, and you’ll do like 70-80% of the damage that it possible for the spec. They are unironically the two most thoughtless things to play, and help learn procs and rotation cycles.

Download Hekili if you want to figure out how to get the other 20% of your damage.

I’ve got ADHD, a number of health issues, frequent migraines that I play while having, and nerve damage in one of my hands. I’ve also watched a player that is 100% blind, not legal blind, zero sight. And he plays the game as a healer pretty dang well with some accessibility stuff helping. The only thing stopping you from getting better is you making excuses not to.

The viscous green liquid dripping from their wings and whips make up for the fact that they wear pants.

Besides, they are skin-tight pants so it barely counts anyway.

There are some studies out there that claim diet can affect IQ. If you think your brain is holding you back in your life, maybe look into it.

More fish, more meat - less sugars, less breads.

More fats that come from animals (like butter and lard) - less that come from plants (like corn oil or canola oil).

World of Warbands is a video game, not a job. As long as you log on, enjoy what you’re doing you are winning.

If you want to improve you need to practice your class and spec. For Mythics, do the heroics first and when you feel confident ask on the forums. There are likely atleast 4 people here that would group with you.

As for knowing what class to play… cant help you there. I am playing between 5 characters at the moment.

So you have no friends, no guild, can’t see, can’t research classes online, can’t play the game, can’t concentrate, can’t focus, can’t communicate, and can’t enjoy things, but definitely want to do endgame content?

I struggled for a long time to pick a ā€œmainā€ and it really negatively impacted my ability to enjoy the game, so I get where you are coming from.

It’s even worse right now because you level so fast, new players only have a few hours to learn rather complicated mechanics.

Trying to look up a guide on how to play your spec can only compound the problem as well, because of the nuance and intricacies that go into playing any class to its full potential.

My sister has a lot of trouble retaining information as well, so I can understand how that can be frustrating for you and also any one you play with when you just struggle to remember mechanics, what buttons to press when, ECT.

Blizzard has said they want to work on making the game more new-player friendly and reduce the need for add-ons, but that is going to take time, and I am not sure how they are going to handle making end game content easier because their answer always seems to be scaling down content numerically rather than reducing complexity, which isn’t really actually helping. It just means better players clear content faster, and weaker players still struggle with the mechanics, since the numbers aren’t the true problem. The only silver lining is that it’s easier to eventually brute-force content, which again doesn’t really help, because even that desperate strategy has an upper limit on how high you can push.

My advice is to not worry about endgame, and level a fresh character for each specialization you want to try out. Take it slow, and enjoy your time with the game, and really allow yourself to experiment and learn.

At max level, there is a high expectation of performance, and it can be overwhelming and even harmful to the experience if you already don’t know what you are doing. While leveling, that expectation doesn’t really exist, especially when flying solo.

Try and figure out what it is you enjoy mechanically about playing the game, and figure out what role and specialization maximizes that experience for you. For example, if you get really anxious about performance numbers, maybe consider playing a tank, so all you have to worry about is taking damage. That limits the amount of knowledge you need to maximize DPS, and allows you to focus on learning dungeon and boss mechanics.

Just a thought!

lol @ the gooner in this thread damn dude… touch grass

anyways, OP, try the Class Trials on the character select. they are far FAR from perfect— or even complete— but maybe it will give you an idea of which to choose. imo, try all of them to 20 before settling. And, if you kinda like a class but are still unsure, try switching the race (some classes ā€œfeelā€ better when you find a fitting race for it)
