I'm sorry but why is RIO addon even allowed?

Well maybe if blizzard had put any effort in to their quest text this wouldn’t have happened.

Oh please random person on the internet, tell me what I need. You clearly know me better than I know myself.

Actually, factually speaking, the rate of success I have had from using that addon compared to when I didn’t proves you wrong.

For now it’s very useful.

And if blizzard decides to incorporate it into the game, similar to arena ratings, I’ll be a very happy man.

One thing RIo does not show is M+ bailouts. I found that some people that have done way too many M+ runs will likely bailout at the first hint of trouble. lesson I learned is use your instincts and dont take a tool for gospel and you will be fine.

I will not. You’re grown man. Figure it out.

A personal account. I have guild mates that have failures even with ppl with larger scores. Can’t rule out that human factor.

Counter point how many successes have those guild mates had on +10 or higher keys with people with low or no scores?

Y’all need to play hybrids if you don’t have friends or a guild to run content with. Infinitely less hassle to join or start groups a a tank or healer. People still look at your scores but they’ll be more willing to ignore it because getting you in the group [or you starting the group] means it’ll likely fill quickly.

Really not sure what you guys expect pugs to do. They don’t exist to carry you. They don’t exist to teach you. They exist as a mostly selfish means of getting loot, and therefore people want to bring the most proven players they can to make sure it goes smoothly.

Either people are given the tools to make judgement on their peers beyond ilvl (even wiithout addons, the armory plays into this, and logs for raids), or the game forces people to do blind invites and everything is tuned easier so people won’t whine when they inevitable get bad group after bad group.

Raider IO and armory are both bad. I like games that allow you to keep things private. People being all peeping tom on my armory makes me sick to my stomache. Then there is those special flower out there that think somehow your armory makes your point more or less valid. Please I have been playing games longer then most of these “Elites” have even been alive. Communities was better before all these “improvements” was around so that alone shows a hint of just how good these tools are for the game. Bad communities make bad games. The real reason people keep quitting is because the community has gone down the drain and large portion of that is thanks to the armory, and addons like raiderio. These things support poor elitist behavior. Games like Final fantasy for example don’t have these options and the community is at large better because of it. Blizzard should take a hint.

Oh I still have failures. But infinitely less than I used to.

Ah look, Square Enix’s marketing interns have showed up. Go play your weeb simulator.

Dont bother with him. He is clearly trolling.

Point is, IO is amazing. And the only leople who have problems with it are baddies who cannot even be bothered to interrupt adds or chain CC them. They think they do good dps so theyre good.

Its also very simple to boost your m+ score unless you are lazy. Dont give me the “i dont have time” bs. I work 40 hrs a week and study around 30 hours a week. It took me 2 weeks of 1.5 to 2 jours of play each day to get a 900 io score last season. All you need is a +9 for every dungeon. And once you have that its very very easy to get into pretty much any +10 or higher.

This is why M+ is bad content. It’s a mindless, unfun treadmill.

Why? Becausw the best rewards require a little effort?

Also: I wish people would stop saying unfun. It sounds like newspeak and shows a lack of vocabulary. All it does is make you look stupid.

To you maybe. If you don’t like, go do something else. I love it. The incremental scaling difficulty, the constant ‘race’, the need to be constantly squeezing out that little bit of extra dps or avoiding just a little bit more damage. It’s incredible. If it’s not for you, don’t do it. I despise pvp and you don’t see me jumping into every pvp thread talking about how awful it is and saying everyone should partner with me whether they want to or not.

It’s low-effort, stagnant content on the part of the developers and offers little real challenge compared to raiding. The game would be in a better place if Blizzard went back to releasing more dungeons instead of pretending like M+ affixes are real content.

It shows exactly what content you have been able to complete. Ie shows people what you are capable of.

If I’ve done a 12 Shrine in time and someone is looking for players for a 12 Shrine or lower it is quite reasonable to assume that I will know the mechanics and not be a liability for the dungeon.

If the highest I’ve done is a 5 or 6 Shrine, for obvious reasons they will be less likely to invite as they are unsure if I can cope with the increased difficulty.

If I only have a 5 or 6 done, but have a total IO score of over 1600, then even with my low Shrine they can expect (due to completion of other considerably higher keys) that I will still be able to reliably deal with the mechanics.

That is why IO is used.

Go tank a lfr then you will see why: Raider i.o is good. And why proving grounds need to be bought back.

Hmm, I thought raider .io doesn’t update till the first week of the new season. Are pugs using the previous season metrics?

Probably, i mean if you were 2K score you can count on that person to know his stuff for a +10 this season.

You can use the website and it shows last seasons scores.

https:// raider .io/characters/us/ khazgoroth/Stormherald#season=season-bfa-2

Because rio gives a good indication of experience with those dungeons

With raiding guilds selling runs, it is not a good indication. All it means is you could be getting a scrub who paid his way through the game.

The comparison to Gearscore does come to mind, just because the issues of not having high enough numbers removes any chance of you getting invites. Especially as a DPS. However, it is understandable that players want a way they can be semi-sure their key doesn’t get down ranked or the dungeon will be done on time.

My problem with it is I don’t do M+ because it’s not a format I like to play. I like the higher difficulty, really enjoying Operation: Operation Mechagon, but absolutely hate the fact it’s on such a strict timer. Even though Blizzard specifically stated they wouldn’t keep them on a timed basis after Legion(Can’t remember if it was at a Blizzcon or an interview). But to the point, would very much be willing to start dipping my feet into it for fun if we could take a little more time through them and make them more mechanical.

Which brings me back to one of the issues I have with the whole RIO system. As I stated, I hate doing them, so I don’t. But because Blizzard has decided that Int swords aren’t supposed to drop in raids any more, I’m forced to do them. More specifically, a certain couple of them. Which means the difficulty of even finding a group is even harder for me. And if what someone posted earlier about if you only have a couple dungeons on your record it is a negative, that means my difficulty just went up two-fold.

And yet I watch CE raiders struggle in 10s.

You mean the old days when dungeons may as well have not existed after the first 3 weeks of an expansion because they were worthless once you started raiding, leaving a lot of wasted dev time and a lot of people with nothing to do outside of raid night if they wanted to progress their character. I’m sure that would be great for the game.

It’s already been covered plenty of times in this thread: it’s really easy to pick who’s getting carried and who isn’t.
