I'm pretty happy with a lot of the new customization options, but it feels strange that only some races get scar options

Like, yeah, a lot of the customization options are culturally weighted- Blood elves and Draenei with jewelry, Night Elves and Orcs with face/body paint, but everyone can get injured. It doesn’t really make sense to me that, say, Gnomes can’t have scars, or Draenei can’t have scars. What, are Blood Elves too pretty to get cut or burnt? Seriously, I don’t get it.

The distribution of new customization options kinda feels a bit arbitrary if you ask me…

Humans get a fancy new face shape option… but no other race gets it? How come?
Some races get Tatoos, Some others get Warpaints, and a few others get Body Jewlery, and then some get nothing? Why?
Most races got facial piercings and earrings seperated into different selections… but not humans? What?
Some races get Scars and some dont? Really?

And then there are the races that didn’t actually get ANY new customization options (besides the eye color selection that EVERYONE got)… Not talking about ARs, as we were told they won’t get anything at launch, which is a shame…

Worgen… the entirety of their new customization is just a few new fur colors and the ability to customize their human form seperate… no new features to play with…

Pandaren… just like Worgen they only got a few new fur colors and hair styles… and a toggle for the two different tail options they already had.

Goblin… Again… just a few new skin colors and hair styles… their “new features” is just their already existing facial features split into separate options to mix and match now… nothing new though…

We should burn pandarens, I mean like all over.

I was really hoping for humans to get tattoos but I guess not. :frowning:

Wait, humans don’t get tattoos? That’s an odd decision.

It’s not arbitrary, it’s biased toward the “cool” races.

It’s national sport to get hurt for forest elves

Cause them night elves got extra crispy mate. I like that one is actually called Teldrassil.

Idk about the others you mentioned but when it comes to BE’s, we’re supposed to be the most graceful and agile of all the races. Even Garrosh said that watching BEs in battle was like watching a dance because of the speed and grace of movement so that would be a good reason why BEs don’t get many scars, if any.

Yes? I thought everyone knew this?

Please do <3

This is just the first wave going out, like allied races they are planning on adding more options as the xpac continues.

Not as odd as the decision that only Black and Asian humans can have scars. That’s just stupid and is completely contrary to what we’ve been told about how they wanted to separate things out into their own categories.

Like why did they think it was a good idea to not make scars a separate option for humans and to make them exclusive to certain skin colors?

We should still have gotten scarring as an option though. All blood elves got can boil down to one word: accessories. And that feels incredibly lazy. I would rather have six scarring options, especially one iconic like Lor’themar’s, as opposed to the…like 18 jewelry options we got. Feels lazy.

I would hope that customization options are part of ongoing improvements, and they don’t just stop with the curret round.

Customizations are, so far, pretty underwhelming. Most races just got 2 or 3 new hairstyles, with maybe a tattoo here or a scar over there.

Unless you are a human

Male humans have 36 face options. Male trolls have 5

But is Panda meat any good?

If cows eat grass and Bamboo is just overgrown grass, Pandas only eat grass.

I still got my Burning Crusade box with that scarred up Blood Elf on the cover.

Why would anyone have burns or scars when the local priest or paladin can heal you?
