I'm playing SWTOR now and it's better

Man what a breath of fresh air. I know all of you like chocobos and bunny girls but I’m not into that. What I really like is a good star wars story with voice over, branching dialog, and even numerous class stories.

You play WoW and you get tiny bits of story all so people can zoom to the end game and hop on the treadmill. And then you play SWTOR and you can finally just play the game. It’s a weird concept right? That the game is in the leveling, exploring, and doing lots of content while getting more powerful?

I mean it does have an endgame too of course and a gear ilevel chase in it, but it isn’t as huge as WoW either. And guess what? You can literally just sub and get access to all current and past expansions permanently.

May the force be with you

Not really. SWTOR is only good while questing. Once the story dries up it becomes a slog.

SWTOR is no different than it was before: a story based game that is fun to play until you run out of story. Most of us have already been there and done that so you’re not breaking any new revelations here. It’s a $250 million dollar game that went FTP in six months and they haven’t had a REAL expansion in years. The last expansion, if you want to call it that, was so tiny and such a bug filled mess. It’s a dead game running on only a couple servers. Most new players that rave about it are playing the 1-50 content which is what the game launched with 11 years ago. Bioware should have be ashamed of themselves for how they’ve killed that franchise.

Ah yes, SWTOR… The perpetual zombie status MMO in which 95% of new content additions is MTX clothing and new ‘expansions’ release with 1-2 hours of quests.

When you exhaust that story content the fun is over, knowing substantial content updates will never come again.

No one forcing you on a treadmill. I haven’t engaged on any treadmill this expansion and I’m having fun

I enjoyed SWTOR when I played it, Huttball was great.

But, it is my second favorite Star Wars MMORPG.

Star Wars Galaxies, years before SWTOR, was more sandbox-y. It had player communities and towns, loved that game to death.

Yeah they have done a lot of improvements to that game and I’m enjoying it too.

The economy is insane right now. I have 70 billion credits and I’m poor compared to some.

Never played it. I’m just not that into Star Wars. I’m way more into Fantasy than Sci-Fi.
But I have always heard that the story is good.

I was really surprised to see they released an expansion in 2019, and now googling it, seems they did one last year too. Happy that it’s still going despite my lack of interest.

What qualifies as an expansion in SWTOR is equivalent to a minor patch in pretty much every other big name MMO.

They just released a new zone a couple of weeks ago. People seem to be really enjoying it.

I’m being lazy and derping through the story at a snail’s pace.

p.s. They’re also updating the game to 64 bit soon. They’re a bit behind the times but I don’t care, just glad they’re finally doing it.

SWTOR is always fine. It’s not the best MMO ever but i do love my Sith Sorcerer.

SWTOR is a solid… Singleplayer game? I swear, I’ve tried liking the end game on there so many times but it just isn’t for me. Farming flashpoints and dailies grind for currency was boring as hell and the Operations just weren’t that fun.

With that said, I did really like my Jedi Knight, Sith Sorcerer and Smuggler stories, with my Jedi Knight going all the way until beginning of Legacy of the Sith.

i have completed every class story in SWTOR, alteast half of them were great. But if you really want a heavy story focus in games… maybe try singleplayer? There’s pretty much nothing of MMO in swtor besides people in hub city

the story is good and going through the leveling of different classes but end game? horrible

I’ve played it, but it definitely isn’t as “polished” as WoW, in my opinion. It’s a great game and I love the storylines. But every time I try booting it back up, I get reminded that the gameplay feels like a clone, but then downgraded. I wish I would have played it first, since I might not have thought that if I didn’t have years of WoW gameplay under my belt.
