i wouldn’t consider any MMO among the best games ever made, especially because most people will likely factor in the enjoyment they have with their friends, which you won’t ever get in a single player game. if you judge the game itself and nothing else, i would never call WoW one of the best. at this point it’s based on keeping you addicted and not much else

Ehh. I still would have to give the game credit that it has had an insane amount of success in its earlier years. While the friends is something that’s organic, the game used to have player interaction in mind when they were making the game. And with that now being an afterthought, the game is extremely single player minded and the systems are the forefront of the experience and it really shows that the current devs have no idea what they’re doing.
But yeah it’s designed now for players to burn time to improve play time metrics. Best games ever made is an opinion but to me it “was” a great game which is what I meant to say.
yeah it definitely used to be, in my opinion if you were going to attempt to include it in the top rated games ever made you’d have to pick out particular expansions and not the game as a whole. BC and wrath might make the list. for me, the game has to meet one particular criteria, and that is, am i having just as much fun playing this game as i did the first time i picked it up? i can do that with old zelda or mario games, a couple of the final fantasy titles, but not with WoW. even if i tried the BC server now, it still wouldn’t make it
Sales records and the games longevity are evidence of that, top 10 in total PC copies sold. That is enough to conclude the game is one of the best ever, like it or not. FF14 is nowhere close.

Yeah basically anyone who has any objectivity thinks that WoW is one of the greatest games ever made, whether they like SL or not.
When it was released it was absolutely groundbreaking. It was so popular it became a cultural phenomena with people putting it in advertisements, TV shows, MSM, etc. It’s been one of the most profitable and popular games for over 15 years, and is still in the top 5, even after losing a bunch of the population. SL was the fastest selling game ever, as an expansion to a >15 year old game.
You’re just delusional and can’t think beyond your own opinion if you think WoW is not at minimum in the top 10 best games ever, and completely changed the entire gaming landscape it’s been so successful.

I hate to make anothe r" I loved this about gw2 post" but here I go. I loved the player “down” condition, whereby anyone could resurrect… including i pvp getting a player kill would raise people up.
Surviving while down could be a really intense experience.

why limit it to just dh and warlock? Seems pretty elitist that I can’t become a demon paladin.

nah it’s not though. especially since diablo 3 is in there also and not diablo 2, which i’m sure most diablo fans would probably consider a travesty and very incorrect

I agree, which is why Player Unknown Battlegrounds and Minecraft are the two greatest PC games ever made.

I’m probably going to start playing FFXIV again too for several reasons, but one of the bigger one’s being the double standard I’ve grown sick of seeing on the forums. As I have a couple of Tokens saved now, I’ll use them when Blizzard releases actual content worth using them on.

i said this to my friends once but basically:
the single rez ability that all healers have should become a battle rez and should go on cooldown when used
mass rez should remain the exact same as is only used out of combat

It wasn’t as bad during like Titan where when you got knocked off you couldn’t be resurrected, was still a punishment. “Oops you did bad, here’s your time out to think about pressing/doing the right things”.
Then they changed it so bodies teleport back up in later fights so you can chain res bads and haul them thru everything. Just pile it all on the healers that they made brain dead to play.
Thats the biggest issue with XiV, just catering to the lowest common denominator and baby-proofing everything.
