Housing was something I was looking forward to in WOW. I have to say I’m just over it. I like the whole building the house and decorating portion, however I dislike the endeavor grind. I dislike it because it depends on other people actually participating in the community. I dislike the diminishing returns on the coupons for my time.
There are maybe 5 or 6 people in my horde community that are participating. Several that are doing in the alliance community, mostly I think it’s alts in both just doing their own grind, raid farming n such. I have probably less than 800 coupons across my alts in the alliance community. The alliance community is almost to the 2nd benchmark and the horde community just hit the 3rd benchmark. Both of my houses are capped for experience for endeavors. The alliance house is the only one I’ve taken the time to attempt to furnish.
I have ground out about 1200 of those community coupons on this horde character. When it fills up to 500 I just log in an alt I don’t play and trade them over to that one and start all over again. If we can continue to earn more, why is there a limit of 500 that we can carry on a character?
The actual endeavor factions seem to be imbalanced. The horde neighborhood has the mole people area and the alliance neighborhood has forbidden isle area. There are plenty of repeatable neighborhood things to do with the mole people, but the forbidden reach neighborhood has the 5 weekly quests and be a good neighbor - that’s about it. Both have their relative island/cavern grind area but the actual neighborhood content is very lopsided.
I’m just over it. Those extra decor items from the endeavor factions, for me they aren’t worth the amount of time I seem to have to spend to single handedly grind that mess out. Will either of my neighborhoods make it to the end of the community experience bar, maybe but doubtful if I stop doing the grind.
I enjoy the houses, I’m going to give those a B+. The endeavor system I’m giving it an E for effort. I’m done with it unless it changes significantly.

I would be nice if doing g horde counted towards alliance and vice versa. Mainly because it it too time consuming for a boring quest.

You can easily farm coupons on your own if your community isn’t doing anything and buy from other people’s vendors.
Only 250 house exp out of 2500 is from the endeavor coffer itself.

You can start decorating your home from the items you purchase at the neighbourhood vendors. Leveling your home will happen in good time, its not mean to be something that gets done in one month. Housing is not a race or a competition to see who can place the rare blood elf book first.
Take your time with it, nothing rushed is going to be fun.
(as a side note. My alliance neighbourhood is all the way leveled up. My horde is not even at 50% of the first bar. I have amassed less than 300 housing coupons and felt I had a ton…I wish I had 800, I consider you fortunate).

Op if you aren’t too terribly attached to your horde or ally hood, might be time to move.
I moved my horde house 3 or 4 times until I found a good fit. First was public just to get a plot. Then an alt horde guild as a companion to my ally guild (I didn’t like logging into a dead proxy guild with a reserve alt. Just not for me.)
Back to public, with almost zero progress on the endeavor bar. Then settled into the horde guild I’ve had an alt at for about a year. So keep shopping once the endeavor is done and try to find a better forever home. 
There are also charter guilds with the express purpose of advancing housing.

Yeah, I think a big part of it is finding the right neighborhood for you.
My public Alliance neighborhood has been ahead of my Horde guild neighborhood since they started the endeavors and both finished last week. The public Alliance neighborhood seems to have a decent a decent amount (maybe 15-20 out of the 46 we’ve settled at) of players who take an active interest in housing. My guild’s neighborhood is small (16 houses last I checked) and I think that about half of us were at least somewhat active on the endeavors.
It might be a bit late for the current endeavor cycle to go find a new guild as you’d probably miss out on the end chest (if you move to a neighborhood that has completed the endeavor, you can’t loot the chest.) You could start scouting around for a neighborhood that has already finished their endeavor that has some decent open plots and plan to move right at the beginning of the next endeavor cycle.

This first Endeavor was special (started mid-month, longer than usual, no previous month’s data to scale the rate of progress). Next month’s Endeavor (starting 2-Mar) should feel better on rate of progress because it’s supposed to be scaled based on the previous month’s Endeavor participation and rate-of-progress.
Even so, if you’re not attached to your Neighborhood, you can just try to find one where more of your Neighbors are actually participating. If you are attached to your Neighborhood (it’s a guild / community thing, just small and/or low participation relative to plots-claimed), then it should get better next month and you can always just grind for your own objectives and hop to hoods that have fully maxed/unlocked vendors in the LFG listings to buy what decor you want (in particular for the same vendor your hoods failed to fully unlock).
There are FIVE Endeavors up and you only have two houses, so if you don’t hop around in LFG, then you’re missing out on decor from three of five vendors anyway. There’s no issue with hopping around other than if you play “off-peak” hours on your server it might be hard to find active listings in LFG for maxed/unlock vendors you need/want.
Edit: Technically you’re not missing out, but if those vendors are up and fully unlocked in other hoods, and you want that decor and have the Coupons, then there’s no reason to wait until your hood gets that Endeavor, esp. if your hood has a low chance of fully unlocking the vendor; just hop around in LFG and get what you want as soon as it’s available & your can afford the Coupon cost!

Idk I’m in 3 diff neighborhoods and they all finished the endeavor’s with 20 days left. So I think it’s a personal problem.
I don’t know why you’re grinding it so intensely. We’ll get repeat endeavors over time. You’re burning yourself out for no reason.

I think a lot of us are feeling forced to grind it because we want to keep building our visions but we can’t right now because rooms are capped based on level, and the only real way to get levels is to grind endeavors. My alliance house is XP capped this endeavor and I’m never going to get there on my horde house because my horde neighborhood has the drakthyr one which is a horrific grind. So now my horde house is just permanently behind? It’s super discouraging and a bad system.

Horde Scorched Rock Bay neighborhood have completed our endeavor progress. Have all the furniture for the Forbidden Reach endeavor trader unlocked.
Yes I hate the endeavor grind. It’s not fun. My house is going to level up very slowly at this rate but I’m sure they’ll add on a catch up mechanic at some point.
I did some weeklies today and forgot to switch over to my horde endeavor beforehand so I didn’t get any credit. I’m not able to repeat the weeklies. Logged off after that

Worked out if I do the Honor Point endeavour, I could grind 50 per week and 2600 per year, multiply that if I repeat the endeavour.
Adding Lumber and Killing Monsters in Queue I could get a little more.
And AH decors.
If I cap 5000 honor per day on one character thats 50*365= 18,250xp per year, it’s slow but it’ll still level teh house.

You won’t miss out. The Endeavors are supposed to rotate. If you don’t have the one you want right now, you can get it when it comes around.

You wont miss out at all, you can literally just go to all the vendors via lfg or your bnet playlist or even the premade group tab.
People just want to complain for the sake of complaining. Well, that, and be bad at math.

If they could increase the xp from 50 to 100 per 5000 honor I’d be happy.
This recently went up from 10 to 50.
Same with lumber 100 instead of 50 would be cool.

Thank you for this answer, well thank everyone for their answers. I did find all the neighborhood vendors via LFG in game. Collected everything available that looked interesting. Bless people who take the time to sit in LFG and make that happen.
I would have responded earlier but seems the WoW forums decided I didn’t have an active sub and didn’t have any characters above lvl 10. Both of those things are obviously wrong, I have an automatic sub and a scandalous amount of alts, all above lvl 10. Took me some sorting through the support section to find some advice that would fix it. >.>
Edit: apparently it randomly chose a character for the forums also instead of the one I usually use. Nothing to see here… lol

The responses to this are bizarre.
OP is basically saying, “I do not like the endeavors, it takes too long to get coupons, which should not diminish with repetition, and it’s grindy,” and loads of people are essentially saying they’re playing the game wrong.
Like, there’s no different way for them to play it. They do not like the system, full stop. Their language made that pretty clear.
Housing feels very poorly supported to start. Major bugs going unaddressed, heavily advertised features left out, grinds they promised would not be present, and a poor overall selection of furniture. And they’re already monetizing it, despite all of the previously mentioned issues.
