I'm offended at zandalar troll "paladins" 😡

How is this possible blizzard? I was brought up to think that paladins were bulwarks of the light, priest in combat fatigues.
An order created by the glorious (and now deceased) Alonsus faol,

and now you give some trolls(yuck!) who tamper with voodoo and blood magic the ability to be paladins ?
this is an insult to every Paladin and lore buffs that have been religiously reading the wow novels .The worst in fact, since alllowing cow people to join this sacred order.
I will be strongly petitioning the devs to back track in this, let zandalar be warlocks and give the kul Tiran the paladins mantle. It’s where it belongs!!LORE wise.
Let it be known that we vanilla era paladins are not too happy about this,

I think they look neat tbh. We have kul tirans shamans man, its completely “wtf”.

Lore-wise, the Kul Tirans have no real history with the light. They don’t worship the Light, they don’t have a Holy Church of the Light. They worship the seas.

Literally. Not even joking. If you knew the lore, you’d be familiar with Tide-Sages my friend.

Meanwhile, Paladin has become a bucket term including the traditional Paladins of the Alliance, as well as the Blood Knights and Sunwalkers of the Horde.

Edit: Since making this post two months ago, several people have responded saying that the Kul Tirans had Paladins during Warcraft 2. Though it /is/ a valid argument for Kul Tiran Paladins, I would argue that it is not a very strong one, as the Warcraft Universe’s lore was not very cohesive or developed during the RTS games, until Warcraft 3. By that, I mean that all of the Human Kingdoms in Warcraft 2 had generic, standard human units - because the kingdoms weren’t developed beyond very basic ideas. World of Warcraft’s lore is vastly more developed and matured than the RTS games.

Of course it’s a human male Palidan. I was just in a post about you bunch.

You’re not part of the same Order. The Blood Knights basically vandalized your temple pre-cata.

Each race has their own convictions that they believe in to become a living conduit of the light. You don’t need to believe in the same thing. Remember the Scarlet Crusade?

The Light doesn’t particularly care who uses its power. So long as they have faith in it and believe they’re in the right then it’ll answer. Which I think is a good thing, it lets there be more variations with paladins. Different cultures have different ways of doing things.

Also Kul Tirans can’t have paladins. There isn’t one ounce of Light worship in their society, it’s all about the sea with them.

Human paladin is just peanutbutter and jelly of our new cooler paladins

Never imagined I’d see the day where a troll(yuck) would be in the exclusive Paladin club…
As for kul, tiras then why can they be priests ? Makes no sense.

What’s exclusive about it?

Literally every Alliance race can be priests and I’m pretty sure all but one Horde race can be priests. Should they also all get paladins?

Bro, they gave Paladins to BLOOD ELVES and TAUREN.

At this point, they may as well give them to Goblins.

They might as well… I knew things were going downhill when effeminate elves and cow people got the privilege.

Who placed a bet this was a human paladin based only on the title?

As a human Paladin, i’m more offended by the fact that Tauren can become Paladins vs. Trolls. It was one thing for Blizzard to give Blood Elves the ability to become Paladins, but Tauren!?

You do know the Scarlet Crusade was also able to wield the Light without any problem right? And they turned out to be a real great bunch of people.

At the end of the day, and not meaning to take real life into this, it’s like looking at religious beliefs and interpreting them differently.

Blood Elves/Humans/Dreanei = Light is a holy entity.
Tauren = An’she (The Sun)
Zanlarari = Loa

As for Kultirians not following the Light is mainly their whole religious beliefs are all surrounded by the Sea, funny enough they have a similar belief I guess you could say as the Tauren when it comes to Nature, although slightly different.

The scarlet crusade were a well meaning group or true paladins who simply were deceived. I don’t blame them for that.

DO NOT confuse the RL paladins which were a Knightly order, with the fictitious/Blizz version. What paladins, or light/shadow/void, is these days in WOW has become the core of many Youtubers content.

Nothing we can do about it now except slay them on the battlefield. But we may yet get blizzard to change their minds on this latest heresy
