I'm Not Going DPS in Island Expeditions!

So stop telling us healers to go dps or threaten us. I’ve already been booted a couple of times from I.E’s for staying as a healer. I had to warn someone today after being aggressively told to go dps, that I would report them for harassment if they booted me for staying a healer.

There should be NO reason to have the kicking option in I.E.'s besides someone being afk/not doing anything. They have afk detectors in battlegrounds and that should also be used in I.E’s with a shorter time frame of a 45 seconds of inactivity or not using a combat spell.

I’m tired of being targeted for playing my spec. Please make some changes.

This is why I make my husband run them with me on my resto shaman. I’m afraid I’ll get kicked…

I thank you for healing me in island expeditions. I also thank the tanks for protecting me.

I’m sorry other dps players suck.

I dont mind a healer. Means i can gather a ton of mobs to make a faster run. My kid his friend and I used to run IEs. I tanked, his friend dpsed, and he healed. Made for fast runs with huge pack pulls. We all left the game though, with how boring and lackluster the characters have felt since GCD and pruning. On top of more timegating of flying.

Honestly don’t think anything would be done for them booting you as a healer under the category of harassment.

That being said, I have every healer class at max level and each one has the capability of doing competitive damage against your average dps who isn’t geared to the teeth.

Personally though, so long as the healer is healing and sticking with the group … I think they’re needed. I like pulling loads of stuff and mowing it down. A healer makes that 10x easier to do.

Then again … I rarely do island expeditions. They’re not my cup o’ tea.

Just my two cents.

As long as you do all the gathering (mining/chests) while dps kills stuff, fine…

If not, I’ll remove you

I tend to run as Fury or Havoc in IE, and if I have a healer (who is actually healing) I will pull about twice as fast normal and the run takes approximately the same amount of time due to cleave damage.

Meh, its not ideal, but its not a big deal.

Poor healers can’t catch a break. Never enough for raids and dungeons, but don’t want them in IEs.

You have my panda pity

Nice of you to enjoy being a burden to your team.
Great team player there. You understand that people are allowed to remove you for any reason they wish, you just happend to give them a good one.

I wouldn’t have an issue with a healer being on my IE as long as they’re actually contributing. You should be the one running around grabbing all of the azerite on the ground, mining the nodes, etc. If there’s nothing to loot, you should be throwing some DPS out, even if you feel it’s not that significant.

If you’re getting consistently kicked, it makes me think you’re just standing around healing. In reality, IE’s require little to no healing. Pull your weight, and you should be fine. I’ve taken my priest in as healing many times and been fine.

PS - is it really THAT big of a problem to just swap to DPS for some quick IE’s? If you’re getting kicked and bothered SO MUCH that you need to make a forum thread about it, just swap? Adapt and survive or get left behind. Your choice really.

Have fun being kicked.

We dont even need healers in mythic IE. IE are so freaking boring that nobody want to run a heroic pug IE while carrying a boulder.

This is one of my pet peeves. I’ll pull a butt load of stuff, while the azerite nodes are sitting there and the opposing team runs up and collects them. Meanwhile, my teammates are punching the stuff I’m attacking in the face with their thumbs … somewhere.

I even tell them, “I’m pulling big, please collect nodes, then kill mobs.” This why I pretty much stopped doing them.

On topic though, I prefer having a healer in the group while doing them.

At this point even with 1 decent dps you’re going to complete a normal Island Expedition without a problem. And it’s not worth doing the heroic ones. So go with whatever role you feel like doing and forget the people who tell you how to play your character.

It isn’t harassment for people to kick you, for whatever reason, from an instance.

And people shouldn’t be forced to carry others who don’t want to contribute which is what your ‘solution’ would result in.

I don’t mind a healer. Man people get so bent out of shape sometimes for IE’s. I had this warrior that lost his mind within the first 5 seconds and then left. Mind you I did not even see his microrant till he left and then I noticed. He wanted to pull things his way and called us all sorts of lovely names. Meh, you will run into these IE pros on reset day and the next day. Try doing them after Wednesday when the people who actually farm them do them. I can’t remember the last time I had a run the became a problem… well except on Tues or Wed.

I have no issues with healers on mine. As has been stated by almost everyone, it allows me to pull a lot of mobs and we get done faster.

Reporting someone for booting you will accomplish almost nothing.

Burden? I probably contribute more than a normal dps! I can stealth and root while mining a lot of azerite, not to mention we get to pull huge groups and survive to finish faster. Don’t give me that garbage that we’re not useful and if we’re not useful, then Blizz needs to ramp up the damage so it makes it very challenging for dps to solo stuff.

Being a healer is not being a “burden” to your team. Learn to pull more so your healer has to work to keep you up. Clear whole areas of mobs while your healer mines all the nodes and grabs all the boxes so you can keep moving instead of pausing between areas. Sounds like the one who’s not a team player is you.
