I’m not speaking on performance, numbers, participation or anything like that but does anyone else feel like Immolate feels a little off in Destruction? I feel like it’s a railgun class with very hard hitting Chaos Bolts but then you have an Immolate DoT you have to keep track of.
Idk, just an opinion I wanted to share.
I’ve thought that as well. I would rather they put the bonus damage from this into a cast-on- the-move version of Channel Demonfire.

No lie, that actually sounds sick. Combining cataclysm and CDF so that CDF applies immolate to the things it hits.
Warlocks are supposed to be a dot class.
Destro needs Immolate to stay and frankly Demo should have to cast a dot again.
Just feels wrong otherwise.
Demo pets are literally dots that you cant dispel but can kite/root/los, and they are casted continuously.
I know. It’s just not the same. It’s a big ‘feels’ thing for me that has only gotten more apparent as I’ve played classic.
Yeah I get it. But you can play doom for demo too (alot of people do in pvp at least).
Oh I enjoy doom rn in pvp, but since it’s unusable in pve I kinda wish for a baseline dot (and preferably Immolate just so demo can see green fire without using burning rush).
Immolate needs dispell protection.

We used to exclusively be a dot/rot/debuff class. We are finally almost back to embracing that identity, possibly even more than before. Let immolate stay. DoTs are also nice to have in general.
It doesn’t. Too easy to reapply and we can still pump out respectable damage even if uptime is not 100%. I prefer it being super easy to reapply and being prone to dispels, vs hard to apply but has dispel protection. Let affliction keep that niche.
It also aligns with the wonton destruction and arson fantasy as well. Only thing else I’d ask for the spec is to make cataclysm baseline or more easily acquirable.
Also immolate is usually one of my top damaging spells despite the lack of dispel protection. Healers don’t have the globals to be spam dispelling against destro.
It fits perfectly. We’re literally setting things on fire.

It’s fire, it burns, and doesn’t go out immediately. So, yeah it fits.
If you do the quest for green fire, it feels pretty right for the spec. It’s a destruction skill, literally burning stuff down.
While i somewhat agree a dot is needed sometimes i’ve seen as i’ve had fights with things and they somehow will end up with like 1% health and that dot will finish them off instead of allowing them to cast whatever annoying ability blizz allows them to instant cast.
I’ve had it where they where about to die and INSTANT FEAR and now I’m running towards a pack of mobs that aggro and one of them heals the enemy I was fight. All cause I didn’t have a dot on the target to finish them off. Dots are VERY important.
You can talent it so that other than a major boss you probably never have to refresh it. I think it fits perfectly. You light them on fire then they BURRRRRNNNNN!
I mean, it’s just one DoT. Gives some variety and helps with mobility.
Btw, DHs could benefit from something like that. Too many chunks of fury being added and no slow, steady build up. Mana Burn would be nice.
i love to watch them burn green since i earned the fel fire ability during mop i think it was when you farmed the codex book on the stupid dino island then had to fight the one boss solo in BC content to unlock it.
