Hi guys, Im quite new to the current wow, last I played was probably years ago when i was 12 or something(im 20 now) but even so i only ever played the free trial, and now that i got my first salary, i decided to come back to this masterpiece but sadly i dont know what to do, i dont know how raids work, ive done a couple dungeons with random people, but what i really want is a guild or a friend group that could help me, my knowledge of playing this game is quite low but i do know how it works. Im a quick learner, i also like playing dmg, but never really looked into my build tht much, if there are people out there willing to give a lending hand to me that would be so amazing, I play in NA, but i live in Dubai, and honestly i like it.
Henlo and welcome back to the game then haha!
From a levelling sense, your talents aren’t gonna be make-or-break for your character functioning with some exceptions here and there although as always optimal is optimal and your dps will reflect how min-maxed your talent allocation is but in general. The best places and guides for class rotations, talent trees, stat priorities, and gearing guides (most of these things you don’t have to worry too much about till max level) can be found on sites like IcyVeins and WoWhead if you just look up say “Frost DK talent build Dragonflight Icyveins” or the same for WoWhead (I use both for different classes because some guides on one site are just formatted better or are more easy for me to follow than the other because they are all high-performing player written)
As for Raiding, that’s not something you’re going to need to worry about until you reach level cap for the current expansion as Raids are end-game content (unless you are just casually solo-farming old raids for appearances and mounts) but when you do get to that point, you can use those same sites to find gearing guides to get your Item Level up enough to queue up for LFR (the lowest raid difficulty, and only raid difficulty you can queue for) and then gear your way into then joining pick up groups on the groupfinder for Normal, Heroic, or even Mythic difficulty raids depending on how far you really want to progress on that front. Thankfully the current expansion (Dragonflight) has been extremely generous with clear gearing paths to help ease players into getting into doing stuff like Raids and Mythic+ Dungeons (The Mythic+ Dungeon system is like a whole explanation in and of itself so I recommend just crossing that bridge when you are level cap as it is also an end-game feature)
A lot of the end-game stuff can get complex and you can worry about when you get to the point that it starts popping up though, for now if the character you are posting on is your “main” toon for the moment just enjoy the levelling experience (which is a LOT faster now since when you first played) and perhaps use the guildfinder to try finding an active guild seeking newcomers in the guildfinder!
Thankyou, so far im loving frost dk, with my long term goal getting the lingering phantom set for my frost dk, il get into the guild finder thingy right now, thankyou for the tip!!!
Yep, just keep in mind we are kind of going through a “content drought” at the moment where most people have finished doing/getting what they wanted from the current raid and are waiting for the next one so lots of players have taken a break till the next tier of content comes out sometime in November. This will result in somewhat longer than usual queue times for things like dungeons and LFR raids, and less activity even in larger active guilds.
Lingering Phantom looks pretty cool, and very doable even currently depending on which difficulty recolor of the set you want even currently (LFR difficulty raids are quite accessible and the difficulty is very forgiving plus the whole group gets a stacking damage buff each time you fail in the event the group you get queued into is having a hard time so you will get the kill within 1-3 pulls on each boss basically every time, I don’t think I’ve ever had more than 2 pulls in LFR in this particular raid as even on Normal and to an extent Heroic Aberrus is one of the easier more relaxed raids we have gotten!
