I'm losing interest

I’m generally a mythic raider and raid kept me subbed to BFA. wasn’t a fan of Uldir too much but I had hope for BFD. Which was pretty great as far as raids go. easily one of my favorite raids.

Crucible… meh… blip on the radar did it twice on heroic didn’t bother on mythic…

And eternal palace, as I heal Mythic Ashvane cursing people for not dpsing enough or dying to upsurge+lazer combos… i think to myself… the insane rep grind to get my bis essences… the day in day out for over a month doind the same rotation of 5 quests over and over again… was it worth it?

sadly i think it wasn’t. Mechagon the dungeon is kinda fun but it’s ugly as sin. mechanic itself is a super uninspired zone… Nazjatar is kinda nice with flying… but in the end the creame de le crop … the eternal palace… insanely disappointing. it not only has one less boss than BFD did… (usually bosses go up don’t they?) And on top of that it’s just not fun. it feels like it should be an expansion starting raid not the third tier raid in the expansion.

def went a step back from BFD raid…

Buddy what you are looking for is a good ol fashioned break.

Step back from the game, do other stuff, and Im sure youll come back feeling a heck of a lot better.

Don’t understand how people expect this to be an actual solution.

I’m not worn out, i barely play. It’s about being dissapointed in the content. No break is gonna fix that. I’m not gonna take a month or two off mythic eternal palace and come back saying “wow! i’m refreshed eternal palace is amazing again!”

You barely play cuz the content sucks. Youre disappointed for the very same reason.

Breaks are good.

Just quit the game. Idk why people think they need to stay subbed in perpetuity. I quit all the time. Was unsubbed oct-jul. Might unsub again when this month of time expires.

I’d hate the game too if I was always subbed.

I too was, a Mythic raider. I still do M+ constantly, but yeah the game can be pretty tiring. I took a forced 5 month break because of real life and came back.

Suffice to say, while I loved the game it quickly became boring. But still, there is something that keeps me tethered, and I don’t know what it is.

So far, I prefer TEP over BoD. Uldir was meh, but as a first tier raid I dont expect as much.

You could do what you find enjoyable and let things fall where they may. I’ve often found targeting specific things can be quite discouraging if it takes a long time to get it. But it depends what that is mainly gear and leveling. Essence would fall under gear.

If you are doing the content without said item\gear do you really need it? Yeah it would make things easier but do you really need it? I’ve always said, “nope don’t need it”. I play the game and do things I enjoy and let the chips fall were they may. It would be up to you what is acceptable. If I were in your position I wouldn’t sweat the small stuff and just have fun. If you are not having fun, then you are not having fun. You could ask yourself why am I playing if I’m not having fun. Is it really fun or am I trying to fool myself?

edit: Another ramble. I often think of Maro Cart type games. They didn’t give rewards but holy hell were they fun. You could play for hours because it was fun. Tetrisphere kept my wife and I busy until the wee hours of the morning, simply because it was fun. So I keep that in mind while playing other things.

I can relate, as I’m basically in the same position - Mythic raider, subbed basically for the purposes of raiding, not really interested in doing much else.

The one difference is that I love raiding. I love my team because we have fun with what we’re doing - not necessarily because we enjoy the content, but because we like the people we’re doing it with.

I don’t love the grind (I just hit 60 on my neck yesterday), and I’m not a huge fan of trying to get BiS gear, which puts me behind the other 5 Hunters on my team and typically means I’m benched for progression fights (which I’m fine with, since my team is pretty good about making sure that everyone who wants a crack at the bosses gets it).

All I can say is: play at your own pace. If you’re not having fun, don’t try and force it. That will only make things worse. If you’re not having fun with raiding, then yeah, you should step back from raiding. Maybe cut your playtime down to doing specific tasks each day. For example, I do daily emissaries, the Rustbolt daily quest (unless it’s the “do activities” one), and the Runelocked/Leylocked chest WQs as well as any others that offer Benthic gear in Nazjatar. In total, that takes me about 30-45 minutes, and I don’t feel bad if I miss a day. I’ll also do 3-4 quick islands (for the AP), usually in the hour right before my raids on Wednesday nights, and a +10 or higher with people from my raid team on Thursdays. I’ll do Mechagon at some point in the week if I remember (I forgot last week).

Outside of those activities, and the 6 hours of raiding split between two nights, I don’t play WoW. At all. I don’t grind AP. I don’t farm herbs (although I should since I’m responsible for making Vantus runes and Tomes for my team). I go do other things that I’m more interested in. Play other video games. Read books. Watch shows on Netflix or whatever.

It isn’t about “refreshing” myself, it’s just about maintaining a baseline of interest.

I feel you!

Currently have 3 days left, unsure what i’m going to decide on. Might sub for another month just to really nail down the lid of the coffin.

I think the biggest difference this tier is the stuff we farm outside raids

BoD: Heart ilvl, m+ (reaping v fun, miss u Bwom debuff), consumables, professions
EP: Heart Ilvl, m+ (smelly beguiling, no Bwomsamdi </3), consumables, professions, essences, benthic gear

I play this game to raid, but am generally ok with a proportionate amount of non-raid farming so that i feel impactful in raids. But not this much, it’s too much.
