Excluding MG due to ‘erp’ is just ignorant. Sad to say but all RP servers host ERP, you just need to recognize the hubs of it and ignore it.
Just change the name to Mooned Guard and list it as an ERP server.
Much of the RP got moved to Discord and sharded off. While there is lots of RP on WRA, it is largely inaccessible unless you are subscribed to the Discord servers and know who to ask for invite to see the RP events.
there is literally a small group of people in the inn that does their deals. they don’t go out and about talking about it, it’s private. that’s legit like 2% of the rp population in moonguard. i wish people stopped thinking stuff like this. it’s actually a nice server overall.
that said, if you’re annoyed by that small group, wra is a good ally/horde one, but horde doesn’t have much horde rp anywhere and ally isn’t that much in wra so your best bet is moonguard.
All the RP servers have a little ERP going on
I’m sad I missed this thread, because now I’m basically going to shout at everyone and put an end to this “WrA RP is dead” madness.
I’m sure someone has screenshots of the many events we have ran just the last couple days alone. Especially the last Fight Night we had. We had over 100 people in the Diamond Lounge! Gearfist Acquisitions, Riggvolt Dynamics, Treasurebolt Cartel, other guilds are organizing stuff all the time.
We even have a whole Discord, publically posted on our realm forums, for this express purpose! Even if not, Guuah is often yapping about it in character to others when he’s out and about.
Valley of Honor is populated on a daily basis, just doing random stuff! And, sure, a lot of stuff is tied to guilds, but everyone is welcome to join! It’s just not possible to spread word without spamming Trade and spam often isn’t appreciated. That’s why the Discord is there!
WrA is popping off, and hey, I encourage everyone to join in. We got stuff in the works. We got markets, races, dance parties, all sorts of stuff…And this is just the goblin angle, down in Undermine!
Alliance - Moon guard which is proabbly the biggest RP server out there.
EU - Argent Dawn, again a very popular server for both sides
Horde - I think WyrmRest accord is still popping? They were always more popular with horde though so im not sure.
WRA appears to be dead from the perspective of a new or long time returning player. If a player does not know the Discord servers or does not have Discord, it is more likely they will miss and not even be able to see these events. Blizzard should consider upscaling the shards to hold more players while the event hosts take care in ensuring that the events are sharded onto WRA, not another realm.
I thought about rolling on EU - Argent Dawn!! Just not sure how much it is English speaking though.
Discord does not equate to in game. If there’s barely anything accessible to the public in public areas and it’s just Discord and events made through Discord, then yes, the RP there is pretty much dead.
But there is. There’s plenty. And the Discord is easily accessible if one wants to keep up to date for events.
I was up at 4:30 this morning and folks were doing stuff still out in public.
…How, though? I don’t know where you’re looking but the usual hubs still have folks doing stuff! Have to keep in mind that WrA is more of an evening server!
(Which makes things tricky for me as most stuff is in the evening, and by that time I sure am sleepy.)
There isn’t. It’s only there if you’re in a Discord.
Which is a very big contrast from MG, where you can log in, head out into the city and find a crap ton of random, open RP just from people wandering around in the game.
That doesn’t exist anymore like it does on MG.
I haven’t seen anyone in Org taverns recently and the rest of the city along with Silvermoon are dead quiet.
I will say Stormwind (At least on MG) is certainly more active, but that’s also stuffed with way more things than Org has. There’s still usually folks hanging around in the Valley of Honor doing stuff!
I think folks are starting to transition away from there, though, which I think is a good thing since the Valley…sure doesn’t have much. Not even chairs.
Silvermoon, I can’t speak on, a gob doesn’t usually have much business doing elf stuff. Heard they hire leper gnomes. That’s gross.
Most RP is done in game. The Discord is mostly used to advertise and organize events for those who would like to participate. As I said, it’s difficult to get word of things like that happening out in game. And anyone can join up!
Everyone told me “oh the erp filth is just in goldshire” but i got hit up for it in Stormwind all the time so not true
Compared to WRA, MG certainly does have more walk-ups and MRPs encouraging walk-ups. Probably the reason for having issues with getting into these groups is due to arriving late or not on time. IRL, I don’t get off work at the exact same time and when I find the anchor, it is likely they are hosed with IMs thus missing my requests for invites. For me, MG is just easier to hang out on than WRA though my toon Nafi is still seen occasionally.
Silvermoon used to be vastly more packed than Stormwind and then people moved to Org when things started to die down a few expansions ago. Org then stopped being random RP for the most part and you could find it in taverns. They tried doing the RP recruitment bazaar thing (I can’t remember what it was called) and that was just guilds standing around talking to each other or messing around with toy collections. So that seemed to have died.
It’s just a shell of what it used to be. Had I not been harassed out of my guild (long story) I was going to try to bring it back to life… but after the hell I went through, I left one character on WrA and pulled everyone else that had been there since that server launched.
So now, I try to find some RP every once in a while in evenings and weekends, but it’s scarce.
Sorry, but I’ve been on MG since launch and still play there. This doesn’t happen “all the time.”
And if you’re concerned about it, just put “no ERP” in your TRP profile. I haven’t had that in mine for ages after I wiped my TRPs myself. Haven’t been propositioned ever. And even Goldshire keeps to themselves 99% of the time. You could go there and not get one word out of people.
I feel like if you go there as a female Dracthyr vs female Draenei you will have vastly different experiences.
I’m not sure what you mean. My characters are Nelf, Gnome, Dracthyr, Human and Velf. It’s pretty much been the same experience for me wandering around.
I meant what I said. I feel like if you… you meaning a person, not you Sendryn specifically… go to Goldshire you will have a different experience playing as a female Dracthyr vs playing as a female Draenei.
You can disagree. I am not saying it’s an absolute or anything, it’s just my purely anecdotal experience.
As others have said, you won’t find ERP unless you go looking for it. On the rare occasion you get propositioned via whispers in Stormwind, it’s very easy to simply not engage with the person and move on with the rest of your perfectly normal RP experience.
Even as someone playing a fem elf model, I pretty much never get whispers aside from benign stuff. I don’t even remember the last time, tbh. I think they tend to target characters who look a bit more traditionally feminine than mine, probably. So if you are playing a male character, the number will be even smaller. And again, you can just ignore.
