I'm kind of tired of playing Shield Bot as Oracle Disc

It was fun for 1 season. Dynamic and interesting. Brought me back to those old school shield builds on classic servers.

But now I kind of want to heal. I don’t feel like a healer being a shield bot.

I actually think it’s quite imbalanced for other healing classes to have a healer who can put 8m crit shields on players. It can negate mechanics and boost players in M+, further delaying the key levels where they have to memorize the points they need to press their defensives.

I think after a whole season of playing priest in keys and getting CE, this spec is not good for the game. As in how it hinders other healers from competing in the big picture.

Bring back void weaver for disc.

We need some last minute balance changes before servers go live.

Blizz, thanks for reading. And sorry to upset all the oracle discs out there. My intention is only to create fair game play. Oracle Disc is just not something thats tunable when I can put 8m crit shields on DPS for those oops moments.

I am not. Kinda diggin the old cata playstyle vibe oracle disc brings.

Good news for you then. Oracle S3 tier set strongly encourages using Insight on Penance over PW:S with an extra 200% on the first tick and every type of Premonition granting 2 to 3 insights.

Just use the insights on Penance vs PW:S and focus on atonement healing and single target burst with Penance and your problem is fixed.

Good advice here.

Could also just go voidweaver

Really would love to see void weaver buffed a little. Would be huge

Yea I never gave into oracle as holy or disc this season and I don’t want to next season either. I tried it first season for the first couple of weeks and decided it wasn’t for me. Haven’t looked back.

Being pressured into the idea of it stinks and I hope voidweaver gets buffed.

There was a recent buff to VW not too long ago on PTR, 18 hrs ago.

  • Discipline
    • Weal and Woe increases the absorption of Power Word: Shield by 3% per stack (was 5%). Does not apply to PvP combat.
    • Power Word: Radiance mana cost increased by 10% (was 20%).
    • Renew mana cost reduced by 30%.
    • Oracle: Preventive Measures increases the absorption of Power Word: Shield by 30% (was 40%). Does not apply to PvP combat.
    • Voidweaver: Entropic Rift damage increased by 30%.

Would like to see void weaver get an increased atonement healing increase. It’s very hard to compete with oracle’s huge shields even after the nerf.

If we’re talking M+, Voidweaver is totally fine if you’re not pushing title keys. Its HPS is already very high, and people were even playing it to the highest keys in S2. Oracle became popular at the absolute cutting edge because when you’re that high the damage oneshots and the HP buffer comes out ahead.

VW really is only an issue in raids. The only reason it’s looking like Oracle is still going to be the play in S3 at all is because the tier set is strong.

And if we’re not talking M+/PvP, Oracle isn’t playing as a shield bot anyway.

I think they’re doing it because it’s not played a lot. Instead of balancing the specs and letting things be, instead of fixing the fundamental flaw with Oracle that EVERYBODY complained about when they first discussed it, they’re just making it the higher performer so their metrics look better. That’s what I think this is.

It’s not an enjoyable playstyle for many people, it’s not played by a majority of the players, and they figure that they just need to make it more powerful in order to “fix” it. The tier set next season seems to heavily favor Oracle.

I’m still not touching Oracle. I can live with being lower on the logs because of it.

Yea I agree, I think they buffed it to the moon because oracle was so awful in its first iteration and they needed to salvage it so it looked successful.

My reason for not playing it is kind of dumb though I guess, I don’t like tracking things with WA’s or anything and I really feel like I would have had to in order to play it well. That is why I don’t play disc in raids too. I like to play like a butterfly and oracle doesn’t seem to mesh with that play style lol. I am glad that other people like it though. I am never in favor of nerfs, so I would rally for buffs for vw

Though honestly I don’t know if I am going to stick with disc for keys or try holy next season, who knows, maybe the shadow changes will be amazing and I will try that.

On the other side, I don’t think the other flavors of Voidweaver or Archon are fun at all. That’s why I’m playing Oracle.

Archon is just totally passive healing that just happens, and voidweaver is more of the same locked 4 spell rotation that Disc has been playing since squid was forced on it in Dragonflight.

I bet you eat your pizza crust-first, don’t you! You heathen!

More atonement healing doesn’t help voidweaver, because it’s already capable of massive atonement healing.

Voidweaver is more or less perfectly good for most of the content this game has to offer, and you can go quite far with it because it’s a solid spec. It’s just competing with a spec that brings very large absorb shields, which is very important at extreme high end gameplay.

Any spec that increases effect health is going to be huge at the high end.

Bubble witch shielding is not healing, and is blatantly unfair for all other healers in an M+
invroment. The fact that it was even allowed at all is crazy, and is why I skipped season 2.
(Not a fan of goblins anyway)
I’m hoping it changes.
