I'm just going to say it. Mythic+ is and at its core, fundamentally a mistake, and anti WoW

Assuming you’re being genuine…

LOL no you can’t hit 638 from Delves, next season I’m sure you will :slightly_smiling_face:

You played classic wow and thought retail matched the above description?

Classic wow where people stack a handful of meta specs with full world buffs to race through 20 year old content? And generally don’t want off meta specs around because a lot of them are just incomplete junk design?

Anyway, I think you’re mad at the wrong thing. Mythic+ isn’t killing raiding. Raiding still being stuck in mid 2000s is killing raiding.

Ah, so you’re a raider.

What do delves cap at?

I only ever did +8s to 11s and could’ve sword I got a 619 or something, maybe from a bountiful?

Can’t you also get 639 pieces from vault from delve? It’s slower, but possible.

I don’t PvE at all aside from delves and world quests, and I’ve seen decent gear in my vault.

On the fresh server, before reaching max level, it was fun. You just got to relax and mess around, go at your own pace, it didn’t feel like there was a weekly deadline breathing down your neck. That kind of stress is for college and work. Video games arent meant to be jobs. They’re meant to be an escape from that.

You get Champion track gear if you use a key. You can get hero track gear from a bounty map and the vault.

Champion stops at 619
Hero stops at 626

Alright, so it’s on-par with Heroic raid I guess, gotcha.

You cannot obtain trinkets like Spymaster’s Web, Ovi’nax’s Mercurial Egg, Mad Queen’s Mandate, Swarmlord’s Authority, etc. at competitive ilvls without running the raid.

Other important trinkets that you only get from raid include Resonant Reservoir, Belor’relos, Augury, Fyrakk’s Tainted Rageheart, Lingering Psychic Shell, Azshara’s Font of Power, Echo of Neltharion’s class trinkets, Whispering Incarnate Icon, Old Warrior’s Soul, Shard of Annhylde’s Aegis, Reactive Defense Matrix, all Cheat Death trinkets, Cabalist’s Hymnal, Cache of Acquired Treasures, Lingering Psychic Shell, Vita-Charged Titanshard, Ward of Faceless Ire… see where I’m getting at? These items were VERY strong, in keys or otherwise, and you couldn’t just get them if you didn’t raid.

Being 638 ilvl at 2.6k is a skill issue. It’s fine if you don’t like M+, ironically I feel the same way about Mythic raiding (colossal waste of dev resources and rewards when .01% of the community actually play the content).

Actually let me take this circle jerk to another level and say: devs should focus more resources, rewards and gear to high end M+ over mythic raiding my because not only is it more accessible to more players (20 man poop sock scheduling is so 15 years ago), but requires more personal skill.

If M+ didn’t exist (literally the most popular game mode btw), player base would fall off a cliff.

It doesn’t matter when they started playing. M+ is unquestionably a more modular end game system than progression raiding. You need less people, you only need 30-40 minutes per go, and it’s scaling supports a wide range of skill levels (not as much anymore).

If it was never introduced, it’s hard to say how things would have gone…but it really can never be removed because it is what is keeping people around now.

You should have 12 million likes. But, the reason m+ and r+ is against the fundamentals of wow is because it is non inclusive to every player. M+ should be fully optional and not be the only path to pve gear. The married couple you carry because one can play and the other sucks, the friend that just wants to suck at all classes, the special needs player that can’t play optimally, the guy that can only be on 4 hours a week due to family, the old man that don’t have twitch reflexes. That is the wow player base. That is what society is in a social multiplayer game. Rewards should be given for doing things together. Not for struggling together. Having a good time together.

Yep the M+ timer pretty much kills the dungeoncrawler feel of it. It’s partially what makes tanking a stressful job, since you dictate the pace of the dungeon, and pacing is vital.

I can say with certainty if they replace the timer with a death count, tanks will start coming back, as they won’t get yelled at for not studying optimal routes or pulling unnecessary packs (unless they overpull in a way that kills the group).

A death count will be a very welcome change in pace.

You know why it feels “required”?

Because the only other option would be raid logging lol.

Spoilers. This has been the mindset since the beginning of time.
You take your time to learn it. Once you know the pathing, why would you waste time rp walking through it when you can get it done way more efficiently?

This isn’t new to m+.

Every time I hear this… I just wonder… did you even try to talk to the people around you? I literally make friend just sitting in stormwind.
Talk more. Be nice and friendly. Stop blaming the game.

That’s still there BTW.

You’re pushing yourself to do mythic raid, not the game. You could always join a casual guild and relax/mess around.

I’ve said before I would prefer if mythic raids weren’t trying to get harder each tier and introducing so many 100, 200+ pull bosses.

I understand that people who still mythic raid might not want that though. A lot of them might agree that loot/progression/vault/lockouts could be improved though.

Bro what are you doing with your gear outside of green parsing on 4/8 Mythic farm content then?

Nice grey ilvl parses btw.

As an ex tank. I can personally tell you it’s not the timer.
(It’s the other players not doing the mechanics of the dungeon)

THAT is what makes a run stressful. Not the timer.

It wouldn’t.

You think m+ is “toxic” now? Just wait until you get a group that waits for full cds and hero every boss because no timer exists to cause a sense of urgency lol.
Then more intentional carries because there is no fear of bricking.

Tbh I don’t even want to think about all the things m+ could devolve into if the timer was removed.

Who?? How many???

I myself haven’t done much M+ this season, and in general tend to stick to raiding more than M+ but even I know there’s bucket loads of players that love and frequent in M+

Loads of people do nothing but M+

At the end of the day Blizzard are a game company & business. They need to make content that keeps players on board and brings more in.

Whether that means better gameplay, new game-modes, systems and features or better story etc — They’re not going to remove M+ if there’s a significantly high enough number of players participating in such content.

If M+ was a flop as much as people wishfully-think and proclaim it is — It would’ve simply been removed, or discontinued & not repeat implemented in future expansions …

Without question, they’d have to let people start swapping out party members because there would definitely be people dropping group because they can’t wait 10 minutes for hero before every boss pull or 3 minutes for DPS cooldowns before every big trash pack pull.

There’s fixes to this to prevent players from sitting around waiting on big CDs, without needing a dungeon-wider timer to keep them in line.

Fundamentally it’s about whether rushing through the dungeon at max speed is fun or not. I want a true dungeoncrawler experience at every level, and many players do too.
