I'm insecure and angry

Not really, but a little.

Let me say that first and foremost, I’m not a damage meters person. I use them mostly just to see if I’m completely sucking or not. THAT SAID, why is a level 10 hunter with half their slots empty doing 50k more DPS than my lvl 70 hunter who is in like ilvl425 gear fully enchanted on the Headless Horseman?

I’m a casual dork and mostly just do casual content so again, this isn’t super important. I just feel like if you’re going to spend six months slowly building up your character, you should feel stronger doing content than somebody who just made a character half an hour ago and slapped on a few heirlooms.

Let me feel important, Blizzard. My ego is fragile and wounded. Can we please adjust scaling a little bit so improving your character makes you stronger instead of weaker?

Thanks.

Also I totally did not just make this character to top DPS meters on the Headless Horseman because that would be petty and immature and I am a very mature person so that would never happen.

The pettiness is real and I love it.

That said, it’s just a scaling issue. The level 10 has one ability so it’s gotta hit real hard. Throw on heirlooms and it hit’s real hard.

Low levels just scale weird when you do that. You’ll see it in Chromie Time too, with a level 10-15 doing 10x the DPS of a level 50. If they didn’t tweak the scaling, you’d have dead weight doing 58 dps compared to your 130k. I get it’s frustrating though, and probably should be adjusted.

It ok my human! i get jealous on people having top meter then me doing timewalks.

Back then people starting to HATE shadow priest not doing enough dmg or aggroing too much. Worse like a hunter

The only time I get insecure about my damage is when the healer starts doing more than me. Feels like a walk of shame through the whole dungeon.

No ones saying anything, but I know they know.

As someone who plays healers and tries to outdps people when healing easy content, let me tell you the healer probably doesn’t mind, they’re feeling excited deep down

The scaling messes with the damage meters.

It would be pretty hard for a lvl 10 to kill somthing with 20Mil HP vs 5000 HP

I absolutely find it amusing, the broken scaling in dungeons. The only real reason you need to start worrying about damage meters is end game progression or the current expansion. But I understand that it can be very misleading for new players too. “Oh look i did so much DAMAGE as a level 10” compared to leveling up and finding out you didn’t really do all that much damage in the first place? It can be disappointing. It’s probably why so many new players are complaining that the leveling process has them feeling ‘weaker’ when in actuality, it really isn’t. its just broken scaling. Could Blizzard Fix this? probably. Would they fix it in the future? Likely not… but for now we all can get a chuckle about how broken it is.

my 10 twink can solo hh in a min or two

Same.
I Just use Details long enough to make sure Im not sandbagging. I want to make sure Im carrying my own weight.
then I turn the frikkin thing off.
Im way too competitive and I’ll do what a lot of these jokers do, keep my on on the meter instead of watching the game.
I dont pull mobs to run the numbers or anything, but its just enough of a distraction to maybe cause a mistake

Lol.
Yeah, I rolled a new allied a few weeks ago. Holy crap. THREE times the damage of the next person down if I got into a group where the the characters were level 30ish and up.
its blizzards common core math causing the problem.

had they done the squish and scaling RIGHT the first time, the entire old content game might be working great by now.
Instead we got this hack N slash crap.

no not the band,
i mean…

He’s only fighting a level 10 mob
You’re fighting a level 70 monstrosity

He’d get smoked by stuff you fight for kicks
