Watched Zenlyn catch an incap, into a double fear (which pathed him/her LoS on mugumbala), then the MW chi torpedoes to sweep out of fear (absolutely gut wrenching CC chain). This Boomy’s health bar is next to nothing.
You know what he does? He uses his mobility to run to the healer and LoS with them to be topped. After which they won the round 15 seconds later.
It was such a beautiful display of teamwork that if my phone wasn’t too small to see his name I would risk a forum ban to commend him publicly.
It was just funny. Seeing all that CC lined up and the unfortunate pathing I was thinking ‘this round is over,’ then this elegant beast has a moment of clarity, takes their foot off the gas pedal and seeks refuge.
Then it occurred to me that this shouldn’t be rare gameplay.
I did a fair bit of healing Solo Shuffle last season since I didn’t want to sit DPS queues and in my experience, many people just don’t even know a healer is in CC to begin with.
People can’t even stop follow up clones on their healer. I’ve been saying for a while that I think Solo Shuffle is closer to M+ than arena. All gas no brakes. I think everyone should have to heal solo shuffle, it’s like in Drivers Ed back in the day where they showed you car crash videos and pictures/horror stories.
It unfortunately is at lower mmrs, just as frustrating as watching a healer trinket something and not use anything forcing me to use so, next go I die while healer has cds but no trinket.
This attitude is why Jim has a regular healer, and other DPS sit in 45 minute long queues. (Switched to Disc so the sudden urge to chastise wouldn’t strike me, since I’m such a gracious team player)
This is something I need to get better at. I’ve seen some epic turnarounds in my time as well, and have almost lost my mind a few times when people have lived and recovered with a health bar I couldn’t even see anymore.
I was just in a game where I was sitting right next to a priest with like 30% health for like 30 seconds without getting a single heal. This person had their 18hundy set.
Stop this narrative that only DPS can be bad. Healers can also be bad.
