Allied races are the biggest sham Blizzard has ever pulled.
Most of them are just small alteration to already established races.
The difference between Maghar and Regular orc? Literally a red skin tone.
Tell me why they couldn’t just add this to already existing orcs? The examples go on and on.
Having to put in several hours of work for essentially reskins is a sham

OK… then don’t do it if you don’t want them?

Whether or not I do them does not change the level of shamness

Well thank you for the hot take then i guess.

As a mechagnome player.
You literally get them just by playing the game.
Half the time you get them completely by accident because they only require a questline and then another one. :v

That’s kind of the idea. Smaller investment, more races. Kul’tiran was the highest resource/budget and is the least played which is why putting a lot of resources into a single race can be risky.
I think that they should’ve been more like Vulpera and Zandalari in that they have some different animations or whatever, yeah. The “reskin” races feel lackluster.

To get Nightborne I have to go do a several hour campaign from almost 3 expansions ago.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t spend my time content from almost 3 expansions ago. Hell, I haven’t even touched BFA since SL dropped.
How is doing hours of questing a lesser investment than literally just getting the races with the expansion?

I mean in terms of development.
Also a questline for a new race sounds like a pretty sick deal to me.

Oh don’t talk to me about allied races, I took my wife through the entire chain beginning to end, every single achievement to unlock the Kul Tiran… THE WHOLE THING…
Was so excited, made a Druid, decked him with looms, then was like ew, the armor wtf…
Made a hunter also and the armor looked a lot better.

This was one of the biggest complaints when AR’s were being revealed. I’m hoping we see more options similar to the dark ranger where you complete a questline to unlock a new skin and maybe some armor/weapons to go with. But this would require them to pay attention to non-elf races, so who knows.
Yes, if you did it back then it was pretty easy to unlock them. However back then there were also timegates.
Right now you could do it in three hours, back then when it was current we had to wait for mission tables and literal weeklies.
Now I’m not saying you’re right or wrong, but be glad it’s only three hours. It could have been a lot worse.

I totally agree with you. At this point, all allied races should unlock. If you completed the requirements to unlock the race while it’s expansion was current, then Blizz should give you a title, a mount, or some fomo cosmetic item for your efforts.

Vulpera are good. The rest eh.
wrong op the biggest shams are shammies its right in there name!
How is doing a little work for a cosmetic a sham? That’s sounds like a normal thing for video games, if anything it may be too easy.

We used to get brand new races just for buying the expansion (including yours).
Doing more work for reskins is objectively worse.

Going to disagree.
Personally I think Allied Races are fine and I wish we had more of them. They’re a great way to introduce new races to each faction. I just hope that over time the Allied Race pool gets emptied (as the Allied Races become normal races) so new Allied Races can step in and fill the space left behind.
And most of the allied races are quite unique visually. Nightborne, Void Elves, Vulpera, Zandalari Trolls and Kul Tirans and Mecha-Gnomes are all visually distinct. Lightforged Draenei, Dark Irons, Highmountain Tauren and Mag’har Orcs less so, but what they lack in visual uniqueness they make up for with different cultures.

Out of all the allied races the starfox is the only one that was good all the others where a very solid meh…
lol. I know right?
These OP’s make my head hurt. Literally no one held a gun to anyones head forcing them to do the work for an allied…or to use their mounts on multiple characters (sorry, from another thread. i think the OP is the same guy on alts, lol)

So you objectively don’t know what the word objectively means
