I'm glad that LFR Denathrius is out now

Update we killed it the first try, all you need is two tanks who knows what they’re doing and you just call out in raid warning.

Four people died in the fall, no other deaths.

it was hotfixed almost immediately. if someone was immediately MC a few weeks in it’s because they changed their cloak from the leggo one. after a few days or a week you literally couldn’t queue if you didn’t have it on that toon. it wouldn’t allow you to queue for it.

Took me two tries because no one killed the cable guys on the first attempt

Yeah gotta say “kill adds” a lot. People were stubborn about it

N’zoth was cake compared to LFR G’hun

the amount of high mobility classes that would just leave if you asked them to do the running. and then them being replaced with people who couldn’t do it, then others leaving. lol

could have seen it months earlier like the rest of us

Finished a run a bit ago on LFR. Not sure if I was lucky, or if it’s a joke, but the only thing said the entire run was, “Tank boss on south side” and by the end we only lost two people. Nothing was explained pre-fight. I’m sure the tanks had to be experienced to make that happen, but still.

Don’t think people will be having a problem with this.

LOL just wait till the group is fill with a bunch of HDH looking for their lego drop.

it was like that the last thing too. with as rare as monks are every single healer except one was a monk. and like 345803985034985435 ww. XD

Im waiting to see how many people are deemed unworthy.

I can’t be the only one that heard that in my head.

This is such a bad mentality to have. It’s not a “consequence” of doing LFR. LFR is a consequence of an aging population. At 24 I raided whenever I could for however long I needed to. That’s not an option anymore. If I didn’t have other stuff to do, I’d 100% raid for 6 hours a night 4 times a week.

Stop approaching systems in the game as if we’re lazy for using them. This is a game, and not really important or serious.

Four in my group, make sure to say “run to the middle for the intermission!”

I didn’t say LFR was bad to begin with, I said LFR is gated for a reason

During Dragon Soul patch back in Cataclysm, all wings were opened for LFR, people cleared LFR in a day, complained there’s nothing else to do, Blizzard made sure to not do that again

If LFR is all you can do then it’s all you can do. I said if they wanted to progress the story more, they can step up and get a normal raid down if they want, otherwise continue with LFR

Yeah I wouldn’t even be bothering with it if not for the fact that the leather set is the best leather set ever made.

I mean look at that thing. It’s perfection.

my group wiped once it was very easy

People can’t even learn the first wing after being out for over a month.

As long as it’s a mechanic that a handful of people can do and save everyone else, it should be okay. I’ve been doing LFR all the way through four times a week for my four 60’s, and mechanics with soaks are easy-peasy as long as 2-3 people can get it. No problems on Kael’thas with the pedestals, Lady Inerva’s tossed vials usually go smoothly, as long as people are actually looking at raid chat the orbs usually go okay…ish. Hungering Destroyer is always a total faceroll, even if you often have to Yakkety-Sax-style chase people all over the room to save their life when they’ve got the swirling vortex on them. People even manage to pretty much always take down the Stone Generals at the same time.

Huntsman gets dicey. Any mechanic where one person can ruin it for the whole raid like someone repeatedly breaking cc on the Shade but everyone else is still ignoring it wipes many, many, many groups. I always try to convince people to just burn the Shade down but it’s a hard sell to people who insist that mechanics done at harder difficulties HAVE to be done the same in LFR.

Artificer Xymox always turns into a total mess, but you can still bring him down if about a third of the raid makes it to Phase 3 and reliably knows the mechanics. Stacking on the boss tanked against the wall, running against the wall during the vortex, and largely ignoring portal placement in that phase seems to work well in LFR.

Sludgefist can either be a nightmare if you have tanks who don’t know what they’re doing or a total breeze if they do. Unfortunately, in LFR many tanks queue as a tank for the satchel and the fast queue, so it’s REALLY up in the air.

If I can convince people to do the Council of Blood in a Niklaus-Stavros-Freida order, it usually goes pretty well, even if there are still three to five people every single time who still refuse to learn the mechanic of the dance part of the fight. Fortunately word of mouth is catching on that This is the Way for LFR. Stavros pretty much can’t be last in LFR since it depends on everyone burning down the add in the last phase and everyone stacking in the hole that the add leaves behind and most everyone mechanics in LFR are largely doomed to fail.

Shriekwing is one of those total messes of a fight that sometimes LFR can limp to the end on, but generally it takes a few wipes before people get, “Oh, all that blood on the floor that was killing everyone, that was from ME”. Unfortunately unlike Xymox, the boss’s health pool and invulnerability in some stages means that more people have to survive to the end to bring him down, and survival is ROUGH since it depends on everyone following the mechanics well.

Anyway, this has been my TED talk on LFR Castle Nathria because the place is burned into my brain. I’m hoping that Denathrius is more Hungering Devourer than Shriekwing, but as long as it’s not too much worse than Council or Xymox it should be okay.

Yeah, this there is no benefit to such a huge time gate.
