I'm glad some people are finally understanding why tier sets were removed

I don’t get why this wasn’t obvious before. But yeah, putting all this power into something that you constantly have to grind, and wait for, to put your character into the hands of rng is an awful decision. If the loot you acquired is in the tier set slot, yet not a tier piece… useless. All they do is make you feel worthless until you have them. They are essentially a requirement for you to play your class at the appropriate level. Your class rotation probably won’t feel right without it, and your power is just obscenely lower than those who have it. Tier sets do nothing but set up restrictions. Any fun they could add could be added in other ways that don’t require a grind or rng. You people asked for these to be back just because you didn’t have it anymore. You had no idea what it really was, you just wanted what you didn’t have. A poor mentality. And honestly, it’s harmed this patch more than helped. I hope we’ve all learned our lessons here. With the ample amounts of complaining and its overall poor reception so far, this has absolutely gone down as a failed experiment, no doubt. I just have to thank those who have pushed for this so hard. Thanks for ruining what otherwise would have been a decent patch. Because everyone loves more borrowed power…

lol, previous iterations of tier sets didn’t have people running around 4pc week1/week2 while someone who did the same exact content/vault options/or more had 0.

people want tier pieces, not just extremely rng and being 0 tier while some people are running around with 4 set:)

Previous iterations don’t matter. WoW was a very different game back then. No longer do people look at this game with the same values. Times change, people change. And this debacle proves it.

I still want more tier sets.

I like tier sets.

Keep making tier sets Blizzard. Thank you

It’s the acquisition that stinks, not the tier itself.

The tier sets and what they do, sure are not the problem. But this post was never about what fun a tier set brings once you have it. It’s about all the problems a tier set brings by it existing in the way it does now.

That statement applies to every form of gear or power in the game. Period.

When will YOU realize that all of this is in everyone’s head because in the modern world no one can handle anything that isn’t completely instant gratification. And if it’s not that, then it’s fear of missing out / keeping up with the Joneses

I missed the class identity so I will gladly keep them.

Tbh I wanted tier sets for the cosmetic aspect. Having 12 sets is better than 4.

Never cared about the bonuses.

Yo same zug zug

Sooo remove something thats fun instead of actually fixing the acquisition? Smart.

They kind of did, but back then everyone without great luck (or no-life split raids) could just continue using their borrowed power boost from the previous tier set bonus. So it wasn’t this 0 to 20% (or whatever) jump like it is now - it was something where you kept your previous 20% boost until you had the pieces needed to swap over to the new 20% boost at higher ilvls

COMMENTARY:Im not upset about Tier sets at all, the people complaining are the ones that were always complainig just look at their post from a couple months back. That is all they know.

It does apply. Yeah. It’s why Azerite gear was a failure as well. Thank you for proving my point. It’s not up for me or you to decide what people should handle. You are wanting a world that fits your ideals at the current moment. But things have shifted, perspectives have changed. Right now instant gratification is a popular and wanted thing. It’s a mentality many people share these days, and it’s occurred for many reasons. But is it good or bad? Again, not for me to decide, nor you. But understand it’s just how it is right now. And going against it only leads to backlash and disappointed people. Which isn’t what you want with your live service game.

They can improve and iterate on tier. And modernize the gameplay to be more fulfilling. The complaints are on the acquisition methods, and it being timed to great vault. Wheras the catalyst is a nice system to have baseline.

There’s a Tier Set back in BFA. It’s called Azerite Gear. There are various Azerite Traits that we collected and we used them accordingly. While waiting for our Wish Azerite Traits, we were using different traits which is not that bad. Unlike right now, while waiting for Tier Sets to drop, we wear no special traits.

But Tier set system is what whiners want back in BFA. Now, you got it in Shadowlands. ROFL. Enjoy wearing no powers while waiting for the Tier sets to drop. ROFL.

More tier sets please

I don’t think this is the reason at all (replying to OP).

The tier sets these expansion are on par or better (to varying degrees) then legendary item effects, even the bad ones.

With that kind of power in play it makes the tier sets so significantly more important than they previously might be. Lets couple this insane power with the fact that some Specs (Ele being one) were changed or tuned because of the tier set. Ok, maybe not fully tuned/changed because of it but they were a big influence.

Lets also not forget that it feels like a lot of things were tuned around Double Legendaries as well as feeling like they were also tuned with tier sets in mind.

Take all of that and put it together and it makes tier sets “feel” extremely necessary. Compared to previous expansions (which would just be Legion in terms of M+) the tier had less impact than now.

I’ve been verbally assaulted in other threads for saying peoples reactions would be just this and that blizz would take this feedback and use it to not put tier in anymore. I would @ certain individuals but don’t want a forum vacation for a call out. I’ll just say this though… “called it.”

Statement: Imagine how great the class identity sets would have been in Castle Nathria.
