I'm glad RDF isnt in the game. Thank you for hearing my voice Blizzard

You guys know that LFD is a totally optional feature to use and you could do literally all those things even if it was in the game right?

It should be in Wrath though. Wrath is launching with 3.3.5, which is RDF.

in light of people regurgitating points already that were discussed i am unfollowing the thread. I feel i got my opinion out enough.

While I agree it’s been great to do dungeons legit with people, see plenty of people out in the open world, group for quests etc etc, you do realize before this buff most people were just buying boosts right? Once the buff goes away, and the new methods of boosting boostable dungeons are more well known, because surprise pikachu face-- they’ve already discovered workarounds and boosts are being sold again, players will be back to boosting. It’s only a matter of time before the new methods are more well known and practiced enough to the point of boosters being able to sell them again.

If anything RFD would have significantly reduced boosting, possibly even killed it entirely because who’s gonna pay to boost when wrath dungeons take makes 20 mins to do, wrath requires less xp to level, you get additional xp for dungeon completion, plus other rewards such as the gear bag and badges. That’s massive incentive to doing dungeons through RDF, this is further made better by people being willing to continue doing said dungeons once max level since they would have offered badges; AND anyone would be able to get a dungeon group instead of being passed on like they would be joining a pug if they aren’t an ideal class/level/GS. Not to mention people will continue to play the game and level alt after all and enjoy the time they spent because they are able to level in a way that does not have them running the same zones and the same quests and it wouldn’t take them significantly longer to level.

Not having RDF does nothing because after the launch rush and everyone’s got their main to 80, all it does is it pushes people back to buying boosts meaning there won’t be nearly as many people questing. There won’t be as many people out in the open world to pvp with. There won’t be as many people looking to do the dungeons legit to level their alts. Either way, it results in the opposite of exactly what you’re enjoying.

You literally will never be forced to use RDF so… ??

i’d be fine with it… doesn’t bother me honestly… wouldn’t change my experience in the game in the slightest letting people play how they want.

I’m not about gatekeeping how people consume the content they want to do.

people have also been claiming every other game would be a WoW killer and WoW was dead and yet here it is 18 years later still kicking on with what seems like a pretty healthy playerbase and an actual kickass looking expansion coming up.

People saying things doesn’t make them true and just as you claim the majority don’t want it, it’s just as easy to say those people you have heard over a dozen years were also the minority.

yes and i can do that while also being out in the open world in a queue for dungeon finder… if thts what i choose to do. not sitting in a town getting frustrated and how annoying it is to get a group to do a dungeon.

They all are, if it wasn’t a superior tool, they wouldn’t be so scared that the whole community wouldn’t use it leaving them unable to manually create groups.

sure if you cherry pick a graph that only shows inclines when they reach 500k incremements or patches.

If you use a more nuanced graph you can see it was a stable trend upwards from the release of RDF in 3.3

Coincidentally sub numbers started dropping during cata because of undesirable design choices like the change to talents, heroic dungeons, classes starting to feel like they were losing spec identity.

you 100% can, you’re missing the point that people who genuinely want RDF and it matters to them were never going to be in your pool of players to begin with. Without RDF most of us will just play with friends until we’re bored or not play at all.

You 100% have the option to manually form groups and seeing as you keep saying the majority is against RDF mabe have some conviction to your standpoint and don’t use it even if it is added… show blizzard you mean business, not just caving because it’s the path of least resistance.

Then make a thread and advocate for it?

No it doesn’t i’m out in the world doing dailies, doing professions, doing quests, getting reps etc… i am never just sitting in a town while in rdf queue. and when my dungeon pops and i teleport into the dungon i’m a social butterfly full of bants and good times with random people across azeroth.

I am however stuck in a town reading chat without it and overly annoyed at how long it’s taken to form a group and usually completely anti social by the time we’re doing the dungeon.

no we’re not. lol

the patch that wotlk classic will be running is 3.3.5a RDF was introduced in 3.3.0

No reason not to have it at launch. if anything cap heroic dungeon spam till a later phase.

it was out in 3.3.0 stop trying to rewrite history

literally don’t need to talk to anyone outside of “inv”

This is correct, random can pop heroics you have already done for the day, but just lockout any heroic completed that day from random queue till like phase 2 or 3

Again, ICC and RDF were out in patch 3.3.0

so this is an outright lie.

in all honesty i very much doubt you know a fraction of what you claim about wow, just what your little outrage echo chambers have told you is true of the game.

You’re lack of understanding on what patches things even come out in and continuing to double down on it even though you’re wrong is incredible.

and before you try to make some other weird argument about being 1 patch after 3.3.0 so it’s the same thing… just no

there was many patches inbetween 3.3.0 and 3.3.5a

So you’re admitting that you would use RDF despite hating it, and admit that you have no self control and thus need daddy blizzard to hand hold your gaming experience. Isn’t it in the spirit of classic to choose your own adventure and not be forced into streamlined content via removal of choice?

OP got destroyed this entire thread

This is hyperbole.

Fixed for you.

But then you are in a very small minority. Most sane normal mentally healthy people do not enjoy whispering strangers and herding cats trying to get a functional 5-man group then re-do it every run when 1-2 people bow out. More so if they happen to not be tanks / healers. Requiring that level of proactive focus from players is terrible design.

Agreed OP. Its nice that #somechanges can be utilized to improve the game experience.

So you have no data to back this up, and this is hyperbole, and ableist. Being hyperbolic about someone’s “sanity” is harassing towards him, as well as offensive towards neurodivergent people and is against TOS.

lol you didnt fix anything… if anyone had bad faith arguments it was him and he got rightfully wrecked for it
