There seems to be a theme with certain expansions: enemies having some kind of annoying mechanic that they won’t stop spamming.
In WoD, it was chain pull; which was especially annoying when I was on a healer and trying to heal my allies, but finding myself constantly interrupted because so many enemies just had to throw those stupid chains at me!
In Legion, it was nightborne enemies charging at me like The Flash, and stunning me, as soon as they detected me.
In BfA, it was Kul’Tiran enemies with their stupid knockbacks; which actually got me stuck behind a staircase once, and unable to complete my quest, so I had to hearth and travel all the way back there. Not to mention, the risk of being knocked off a bridge or the edge of a cliff.
And now, when I’m questing in Shadowlands, there always seems to be some kind of enemy who keeps on getting behind me, in every single questing area. What is up with that? Weren’t spriggans annoying enough in MoP? Why can they now zoom right past me and force me to have to turn around? In fact, there’s one in particular - during the first stages of Ardenweald questing, who not only keeps spamming it, but hits like a freakin’ freight train when he does it. Give it a freakin’ rest, will ya?! Yes, there were some enemies in BfA who did that, but not in every single questing area!
The one thats making me want to vomit is like EVERY FREAKING THING in the entire expansion slows you up. Its just JEEEEEEEEZUS blizzard…lets try being just a little CREATIVE and have some DIVERSITY of abiliities here.
Ive been watching to some degree and Im wondering if there is one single entity in the SL world that CANT slow you into the the molasses slog of death.
Feels like just another cheap mechanic to drag out game time instead of something creative and different.
Yeah, that’s another thing I forgot about. I keep trying to get out of enemy AoEs; which tend to cause a lot of dungeon/raid wipes, but it’s nearly impossible when they also hit me with a slow.
oh I just LOVE the ones that drop the circles of death at the EXACT same second they root you in place. TONS of fun blizzard. Doesnt make me want to go play some hokey old 90s nintendo game at all
lol…the game is supposed to be fun and enjoyable.
its not fun or enjoyable when the dev team has lost all semblace of creativity and use the exact same mechanic for 95% of the crap in the game.
Its cheap…predictable and lame as hades.
Are you really surprised? Blizzard is all about keeping you in the game as long as possible. Player metrics > everything else. It’s pretty obvious at this point. No flying should have been the biggest clue…
I guess I was surprised the first 200 times I got slowed up by pretty much every single world trash I crossed. After a couple hundred times all I can do is roll my eyes and hope that eventually blizzard will figure out that slowing isnt challenging…its just hokey.
I mean, I could literally turn on the soundtrack of some 90s console game and feel about the same now as I did playing that crap 25 years ago, lol
And another thing I’m getting tired of. The ridiculous cliche of villains getting beaten down to a tenth of their health, and then suddenly pulling some bull fertilizer that incapacitates my character so that they can escape. WHY does this STILL keep happening?! WHY are Baron Vyraz and Lorkron the hunter not dead by my characters’ hands?! For Christ’s sake, Blizzard, STOP having them pull this crap and just LET US KILL THEM!
