I'm getting tired of people gatekeeping classic

Day after day there are so many posts about what the “real classic experience” is. People forget that there are many reasons that people like Classic, and trying to force them all into one little box is ridiculous.

Why is it so hard to live and let live?

People think their opinions matter.

Just like the OP thought his did.

Normal tribal behavior, some people feel the need to validate their opinions by dissing others’ … web forums would be hugely less filled with posts without this behavior.

OP stated some facts though. Everyone has their way of playing and enjoying classic. Personally I could care less about the leveling. I care about max level dungeons, gearing and pvping. Questing is just there to keep us playing longer and to help build a world and stories.

Oh I agree, but people are free to critique the use of “easy mode” add-ons which I’m only assuming is what happened. I don’t see many posts Id consider gatekeeping. I see a lot of whining about 1.12 which I think is nonsense, but even blizz has taken a stance against the LFG addon recently.

People can voice their opinions. That’s fine. I’ll continue to use addons because the default UI is ugly and lacking a lot of info that I like seeing.
Threat gen
Dps stats
Healing stats
Combat stats
Questing addon
Map addon
Dungeon and raid loot addon
Bag addon

None of the addons I use allow for automation. I don’t even use an AH addon but I might because the AH UI is terrible and I’d love to be able to filter out all of the single posted crafting mats.

I’ve been accused of gatekeeping on some of my posts…but those who are accusing me of it are the Classic+ zealots who claim Classic will die off after a few years post Naxx. Doom and gloom types who are using that excuse to justify why their proposed changes to the game should happen. Classic is a MUSEUM PIECE people.

If that’s gatekeeping then fine…guilty as charged

Imagine caring about people’s opinion KEK
