Everywhere I go mages are doing huge AOE pulls and hogging up all the mobs for themselves. I’m trying to level up and ain’t got time for dat. From now on any Horde mages I come across doing this WILL be ganked mid pull. Alliance mages doing this won’t be assisted when attacked by Horde. Every other class farming mobs normally is cool with me.
I’ve been AoE Grinding a lot lately not because of xp rates but because I’m very close to 40 and need gold, so… sorry not sorry
There are always secret grinding/quest mob spots that no one ever goes to. Let’s just say that I’ve never had to compete with mages trying to aoe farm them down.
I came across a mage trying to aoe farm some mobs I needed for a quest, i feared one of them out of his slows
“they terk errr jobs”
You can’t blame them for doing what’s profitable. But if you’re on PVP… then just gank them during the kites.
Nova/cone is usually on CD for the mobs.
Blizzard channels leave their frost wide open for kicks.
If they are facing the mobs, then stun them. If they blink the stun, guess where they go, right into the mobs.
I LOVE mage AOE farmers… they pull all the mobs together and I go [TAB] [Pickpocket] + autoloot like crazy. If I get a resist I’m not aggro’d and the mage takes the beating.
Horde mages, sure. The problem is half the time it’s an Alliance mage doing this. They don’t want to group either because that would be less XP for them. Now I’m standing around waiting for respawns because a single player wiped them all out. As soon as the mobs respawn, the mage does it again. Now I have to either try questing somewhere else or wait for the mage to finish. Either way it’s down time with me unable to accomplish anything.
Clever! It would be even better if the Mage was a human or gnome you could Garrote.
Mages on my faction get a nice big train of mobs drug to them. Mages on the opposing faction get pummeled on frost.
Sometimes I go out to arathi and clear the farming fields for fun.
Okay. (10 characters)
I feel you. I’m getting real sick of all the mages also. Some won’t even invite them to dungeon groups. There’s too many mages.
Pull your mobs into their kite and mooch their damage. Extra points if they pull aggro of it off you.
Here are a few common spots to avoid:
Gnolls in the Wetlands
Murlocs in Dustwallow Marsh
Pirates in Tanaris (yeah, I know, it sucks…)
Farms in WPL
Anyone who wants to help with this list is welcome to. I don’t play a mage, as you can see.
Otherwise, gank or try and mess up their pull (not nice, but no one has claim on mobs until they tag them)
If you use a stun or something to get one of the mobs out of the group good chance to wipe them
If you have a fear, or a stun, do it to something a mage is aoe farming.
As a shaman, you can lay down a magma totem and tag all “their” mobs. Get ready for some salt though.
It get’s worse, I’ve actually been harassed to join those AoE farming groups and after politely declining, I’ve been spammed to the extent I needed to ignore multiple people.
You want to AoE layer hop and farm, fine… you do you, but don’t expect others to assist or like you doing it.
so…you are saying i can toss DoT’s on every mob in sight and pull em back so tank cna keep their attention why i keep pulling more?
casue i mean its basically same as aoe farming mobs
