If you play a lot of MMOs or rpgs grinding for things are a part of the game design. What allied races have brought up is when should the grind stop. What is good for the game and what keeps the player (payer) base happy. Allied races are a cosmetic item in my opinion, much like mounts, pets, transmog, and etc. They are also a way to add freshness to the game which can be an incentive for people to play again. The issue is treating them the same way as you would any rep cosmetic item but also acknowledging the rather large hurtle one has to jump in order to make an allied race.
There is a middle ground to be had but the cost will be a compromise on the original vision on how allied races are obtained.
it would be a lot better if more people contributed to Warfronts. I actually enjoyed those.
is anyone else extremely dubious of any post that combines
“I’m a new player”
and
“I really only want to play this one specific allied race”

The only reason they do is to increase time played metrics.
Literally any kind of system from Legion and BfA has a time played metric mechanic behind it.
Allied Races - grind the rep to exalted, with pitiful 75 amounts with only 6 to 8 WQs for them. If you want the Heritage Armor (which is literally a requirement for Mag’har imo) well, level to 110. lmao
Pathfinder - Uhm… Yeah.
Azerite Gear - wrong traits on that dazzling 445 piece? Into the scrapper it goes. Try again next week!

Rep grinds aren’t bad, but when they’re done with an agenda of increasing time played metrics, they’re terrible
They literally took away the ability to gain rep at your own pace in favor of extending time played.

This is kind of why I kept myself subbed so that I would make sure I was doing the reputation content while it was current, as a result Mechagnomes and Vulpera I unlocked automatically.
Not really. I got a friend to play WoW just because she could roll a Tauren.

Allied races should be baseline with no rep requirement.
Getting to exalted should reward heritage armor for their respective races.

Ooo no one tell him about the bodyguard rep in naz. Personally i find it ABSOLUTE INVIGORATING that only certain quests give them exp, making it even more timeconsuming (aka awful) to get them leveled up.

I get your frustration, I totally get it. But dude, it’s NOT that hard. If you really want it, it’ll keep you motivated enough.
The more I play 8.3 the more other MMORPGs out there look better.

Back during WotLK, when the game was at it’s peak, the only required rep was Ashen Verdict. All other reps were got to their respective “required” reward as you leveled to 80 (shoulder enchant from Hodir being and example)
They’ve take this and turned it up to 11, to appease shareholders.
And look what’s happened.

All prior races and classes were just provided as baseline in previous expansions; TBC gave us dranei and blood elves; Wrath gave us Death Knights; Cata gave us goblins and worgen; Pandaren came with MoP.
Blizzard very heavily advertised ARs – in fact, I can’t think of any feature they pushed harder when they advertised BfA. Yet nowhere in any advertisement, were players advised that these races would not be baseline additions with the expansion. In fact, there wasn’t even any fine print explaining the rep grind in prior content that would be required.
Misleading, at best.

Being stuck on the ground with terrain so terribly designed as to push time played metrics even further is just disgusting. It makes it so Pathfinder IS required.

Nah, it makes it so flight is required. Too bad you have to do Pathfinger to get it. But this is one of the main reasons I don’t buy this garbage anymore.
They should remove the AR rep requirement after Shadowlands is out.
