I'm done, it's probably me

I’d say I technically like Shadowlands, but I’ve run into the same problem you (the development team) created in Legion, which I also would have liked.

You keep blocking me from progressing when I have all the time in the world to do so. I hit an artificial wall, nothing of value is gained from continued grinding so I stop.

And then when I consider playing again I don’t remember the fun I had, I remember being stopped.

Imagine you’ve gone to see a movie and it just abruptly stops. You know there’s more, you know it’s going to get good but the theater just says ‘that’s enough for today.’ Personally, I wouldn’t go back, I’d just wait for it to come out in a format where I could watch the whole thing, and I wouldn’t bother going to that theater anymore.

If I hammer through the storyline quests, I should be able to continue until there are none left to accept.

If I want to blast through every difficulty in Torghast instead of 3 per week in 2 wings, I should be able to do that.

Why would you think I’d continue to pay a subscription fee on a game you quite literally will not let me play?

I hope this ends up being the most successful expansion ever. But just like Legion and BFA, I’ll see what happens on YouTube.

I’m not sure I understand. My alt that I’ve spent like 2 hours with at max level has done more content than the toon you’re showing?

Yeah, it’s you.

That’s because I gave up before you, anyway I started this more to express frustration. I’m not concerned with what others think. Though I do hope you’re having fun. I’m going to make sure I don’t get any more updates from this thread.

I think he’s angry at Bolvar

You gave up in less than 2 hours? I don’t think it’s the progress wall that halted your enjoyment…

Hope you find something you enjoy,

problem is…again…this isnt a single player game. Cant have you finished with the content while Johnny Worksajob isnt past chapter one.
The weekly progression is pretty good, in my opinion.

Other media works the same way though. Do you prefer shows that release an episode every week like the Mandolorian on Disney+, or do you prefer the Witcher on Netflix where they drop the whole season and you can binge it in a weekend?

One provides its content over a long term, keeping you interested, and one provides the whole experience at once, but then it is done and you are left waiting. I don’t really know which kind works better.

While I do agree with the weekly progression, it is a little jarring at how much Bolvar and the others are dragging their feet with rescuing Thrall

Maybe they’re as sick of him as the rest of us are

good point.
for players who want to cram it all into a weekend, maybe a solo player game is a better option.

Capping what you can do for a set time frame is stupid. So what if the lunatic fringe rips through it in a caffeine frenzy and then complains for 23 months that they have nothing to do?

This sort of thing is why I am filtering leveling in shadowlands with my last remaining little ones. Hoping by the time they get to 50 all this limitation nonsense is done with.

I mean, Thrall has no elemental powers. No healing powers. No political power. And he can’t even keep his hands on his axe…

Strategically, rescuing Thrall doesn’t seem worth the effort.

…and their ilvl is 12000 while everyone else is 132.

Sounds like you would like the game better when the whole expac and patches are released, so you can take everything in one shot. Right now, SL is planned to be played for 2 years, so we’ll be getting all the content over time.

See ya, man. Sorry to lose you.

Welcome to the horde. Many of us are just hanging it up. To many chores, not enough payout. It’s definitely us though.

The key is to enjoy playing the game. If it feels like all chores and no reward, time to hang up the gloves for sure. There is no shortage of amazing games out there. I’ve been running around and foraging on witcher III lately.

Yes that’s exactly what happens when you’re waiting for the sequel. Also, if you watch an episode of a show one week and it ends on a cliffhanger… well, see you next week. Or not.

The latter. Finish and move on while they work on a new season. Granted I hardly watch TV anymore, it seems that’s what most people like. Say that anecdotally, it could just be the people I know.
