I'm Done - Here's Why, in short

Fifteen years. Has it really been that long? By my reckoning, that means I started playing this MMO when I was eight years old. I foregoed my allowance so my parents would pay for my subscription to this game. But the story doesn't even start there. I remember first starting playing Blizzard games with Warcraft 2 after stumbling upon a bored teenage volunteer worker at a summer camp playing Starcraft in the camp office. I had on some kind of Lord of the Rings t-shirt. He told me if I liked Lord of the Rings I'd probably get more out of Warcraft. So my parents took me to one of the many PC hobby shops that don't exist anymore and I bought WC2. I've been hooked ever since.

WoW may as well have been the second coming of Jesus for me. When I think about what a !@#$ing neckbeard I was from a young age on playing WoW I cringe - but I also don't really regret the fun times and memories and friends I still have, moreso the things I skipped out on until I bloomed as a freshman in college. Like having a BMI percentage that was lower than my age, and bathing more than once a week. Or being a virgin.

Either way all through the years I've never unsubscribed to the game. Not even when I went months without playing with recent expansions. I still stayed subscribed because I believed in the company. Now? I don't anymore.

>inb4 "lel you're 115"

I was playing BfA until college started again for me. When I got a lull in classwork I decided to come back and after talking to my friends who still played I heard nothing but bad things. All our worse fears realized. Broken scaling. %^-* progression. Dungeons are now over-grown one-arm bandits that you have to grind even more. Warfronts and island expeditions are nothing like we hoped - and we got suckered again like we did with MoP with the idea of a PvP-based expansion and they're even doing the same story.

I was gonna stick around for legacy but after BlizzCon? Sharding? Loot-sharing? LFR's in the beta? Starting at level 15? Graphics updates? What else are you gonna change? As soon as you make these quality-of-life changes, it's not vanilla. Put the RPG back in MMORPG. If it was that hard to do private servers wouldn't be doing it right now. I feel so bad for Nostalrius and Elysium who got suckered with the promise of faithful Legacy content.

I've learned a lot in the last couple months. Blizzard as part of Activision now worries more about Candy Crush and CoD than WoW. I am convinced the same loving hands that made this franchise did not pass on their passion to the people who replaced them in any aspect.

I've stood by since the end of Wrath and watched my favorite franchise die and I'm not gonna do it anymore and the Old Boys like me need to remind these people this isn't just any other franchise. This is the !@#$ing Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings of video games. It changed the gaming subculture forever and became a international phenomenon. It's stories and characters moved us and it revolutionized MMORPGs without losing sight of what they are supposed to be and what makes them fun.

Cut them on their heels and unsub and don't look back until we see more than "Wait and See," from these soulless directors and investors. Let this thing die before it becomes a mobile game, too.

Nope. Because the game is 14 years old. ;D
*obligatory "can i have your stuff?" comment*
I am curious why people post these. Is it an attempt to be talked off the ledge so to speak or to inspire others to quit as well?

I am being serious, I would like to know.

He's encouraging other people to quit, yes.

Which is why I'm not taking him seriously.
In short?
dont give anyone you stuff!!!
You do know that all those classic issues you point out like LFR and GF wont be in classic right? Blizzard has addressed this multiple times. Hell Ion stood on stage and explained it. Cant help those who dont want it i suppose
Here’s why, in short.

I missed that, probably because I quickly scanned his initial post.

I think they are a last desperate attempt to send a message to Blizzard. Blizz DOES NOT listen. With the loss of subs going on any company in their right mind would be addressing the community and being honest. But Blizzard has this "We know best" attitude and so people in their frustration are quitting and in hopes that Blizzard will start to take this seriously they leave their reasons behind here in posts. You can stop giving your money to Blizzard but if you have any hope they will change their ways you need to let them know WHY you are quitting.
This of course is assuming Blizzard cares, which they do not.
The amount of MASSIVE mistakes Blizzard have been making back to back shows they need to restructure. Whoever is telling them to stay silent and not actually respond to the players is the person who is killing this company. They would lose a lot less subs if they would just be honest and assure us they are going to fix things. This info should be in the log in screen. As it stand the only people who have light at the end of the tunnel are those who bother to do ptr or watch vids from those who do ptr. Blizzard needs a massive PR revamp if they hope to survive.

Can't blame you. It's not even really game feedback, just more of the same old Activision-is-to-blame stuff.

I don't have an issue with people who don't like the state of the game and state why they don't like it clearly and concisely, but I have no reason to express anything other than indifference when they don't bother with at least that much.
I heard nothing but bad things
Makes decisions based off other people's opinions, not their own.
I don't get why people make these threads. If you're done, just leave. Don't beg for attention.

This sort of thing would be better for an email to Blizzard directly.

I really don’t think they browse these forums for feedback.
It's gotta be r̶e̶d̶ ̶h̶e̶r̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ Activision!

If you think that was great, Man! You should've been here the first time!
