played 3 BGs in a row, i was on my affliction lock, arcane mages in each game.
each one was literally knee deep in the middle of the fray, not keeping distance no avoidance just hopping around right in the center of a massive battle. Not only were they not dying they were self healing.
Me on my affliction lock getting ABSOLUTELY TRAINED and i had Dots on everyone.
Mages are BEYOND fine.

All the mages in here with the I quit threads all doom and gloom over the class.
Arcane is strong, most of the crying is about the other specs.
The only kind of sustain Arcane has over other Mage specs in PvP is [Temporal Shield]. Look it up.
It’s kind of funny trying to compare Affliction with anything in BGs since they are the absolute most busted livelords in group PvP content.
I really don’t get these kinds of posts. You obviously just came on here to vent your frustration from having a bad experience in a PvP match with zero substance or evidence to your allegations beyond “I got creamed by a mage in a BG so your spec is overpowered.” Grow up? Or just don’t PvP because you clearly can’t handle it.
And just for the record mages have almost zero capacity for “self healing” outside of one janky talent called Alter Time which more often than not backfires and once every 4 minutes when stuck in their Ice Block for 10 seconds and if that is allowed to happen in PvP your group is just bad. The self healing from other talents is laughably low.
Everyone FFs the lock because if they don’t it’s never gonna die.
People don’t train warlocks in battlegrounds for any other reason than their defenses require pre-planning.

Mages just nova and/or blink out of the way. Mages are hard to train because before you know it, you end up overextended yourself chasing him, and become that easy target.

Or PVE, you know - the other 90% of the game. Frost and Fire have less damage potential than most, and dtheir cc/kiting means diddly squat in anything other than low-ranked games because people can easily counter it. Arcane is similar in BGs - if you just let them stand there and nuke of course they will cause problems. That’s been the case since forever.
In PvE, not only is the gameplay bad but the damage is pretty bad too. There might be some opportunity to “shine” in dungeons where things die in 4 seconds, but don’t pretend that these Frost Mages who “top meters in every run” are going to be even remotely competitive in keystones or raids. What’s more is that 99% of the feedback we’ve been providing for the past 6+ years has been ignored.

Mages are immortal? Is this a joke? Mage is barely B tier right now, and warrior is one of the primary issues due to their asinine mobility.
A mage can “outplay” a warrior but it requires a significantly higher skill ceiling than that of the warrior.

Mages have been incredibly tanky since Shadowlands. This was copy/pasted into Dragonflight. Endless mobility, 700k in self healing through barriers in an average fully geared 2v2 match (2 dps x 2 dps). There’s more to the mage’s tankiness than blinking a charge or altering a DK grip. But that must be your capacity, since you know, 2000 rating was your ceiling (in 2014 too LOL).
He was specifically speaking to the supposed temperature on this forum for mages saying the sky is falling, though most of that is PvE related and has nothing to do with PvP.
Mage was literally only “tanky” due to the shield leggo which didn’t follow us into DF, our healing exists through Temporal Shield in Arcane, Alter Time, and Ice Block talent. The blink/shield healing talents were nerfed by 50% before prepatch even hit so if you’re saying those two are even close to why a Mage may heal for 700k then you’re an idiot.
As far as rating, I’ve probably been higher than you thanks to RBGs even if they don’t really matter and I’ve been Duelist since 2014 lmao sick burn though

I was watching Xaryu stream yesterday and saw him healing for 600k-1mil per game. WELL WELL WELL, looky here. The first match i arbitrarily scrubbed to landed a 1.4mil healing game.
Mages have an awesome kit for survival. How about you cite a source like I did? So far I’ve provided evidence on how your opinion is irrelevant (2000 surfer lmao) and a live example from under 24h ago.
