I'm confused as to why ret getting reworked again as right now our damage is top in raid and mythic

I don’t get it

Not the best st in pvp and our self healing could use some buffs in pvp as well. But in pve ive been doing fine i mean i just open world mostly

Every ret I’ve seen in mythic and raids are doing 800k to 1.5 mil sustained dps.

We’re not getting reworked…

What are you talking about?

Also m+ is not out yet nor is mythic raid.

We have partial data on normal and heroic, skewed by instrument of retribution.

It’s better than what the doomer we’re calling but we don’t know where we’ll end up yet.

If you’re talking about the class tree changes, this is not a “Ret” rework, it’s a paladin class tree rework and it was needed.
It was a terrible tree and the things they changed as of now are immensely helpful.
They significantly reduced the amount of throughput nodes and increased flexibility.

It’s not gonna change ANYTHING about what ret rotation wise, nothing.

According to Warcraft logs Average Ret is 600K DPS in normal, and 769K DPS in heroic.

Highest Ret sustained in the world on one fight is 1.28 Million, Top dps is 1.54 Million in the same fight.

Herald Ret is in a good spot atm, at the same time not one Ret in the world has sustained 1.5 million yet, raiding at least. Maybe in M+ where it’s 90% AoE damage.

Sorry OP, but you are misinformed. Ret is not getting reworked again.

What is happening is that the paladin class tree (not the ret tree) is getting updated. It will give us more flexibility in utility talents and nothing more. The rotation and basic gameplay will not change.

I for sure love the gsslighting of “we op why change if we op lol lmso i do 2M dps blindfolded”

It sure is in 11.0.5

Best you look at those patch notes

I think you need to reread those patch notes. Its the base paladin talent tree thats being reworked. The spec tree for ret that was just reworked is not being reworked.

It’s not, read it back.

Class tree is getting reworked not Ret…

That’s embarrassing we have to even state this twice.

Enlighten me. Please give me details about how the rotation will change. I must have missed the parts beyond the basic paladin tree getting updated.

Not true… we’re getting slower gameplay due to the 4%(more than 4% in reality) haste buff getting axed. :frowning:

That’s a tad dramatic. :expressionless:

It’s not though, now that we’re with low haste, the difference between 16% and 20% is very noticeable in gameplay.

And that 4% haste buff is more than 4%, it scales multiplicatively with what haste we have as well, it’s even higher influence when using Drums/BL.

It’s a bigger nerf than 4% dps.

You can go ahead and test it in-game, take note of what your haste is, then remove the talent.
Do the same when under Drums.

We are also losing the 10% cd reduction on generators from Seal of Order. So i think there might be a chance Templar Strikes see play.

Are we? Wasn’t that going baseline?

Nope. Only the judgment cooldown reduction from Seal of Alacrity. Seal of Order is the improved Of Dusk and Dawn.

BoJ, Judgment, HoW and TS has a 1.1, 1.3, 1.1 and 1.4 second longer cooldown respectively on the PTR than live. On my character of course.

Edit: something weird is going on with Ret’s abilities on the PTR. I am doing almost 200k less dps in the exact same build and gear.

So basically means more downtime, if using Crusading Strikes. Maybe TS will see play, i definitely would like if it was the best option, just my preference.

That’s odd… i’d expect something like a 50-100k(max) drop due to the increased cd’s and less haste.
If you are simming 800k let’s say, 5% dmg (4% haste was more than 4%) and let’s say another 5% dmg decrease due to the increased cd’s, we can say 10% less dps, so it would be 80k less.

Truely? I always hated that talent. But for those that choose to use cssa, they can take advantage of the open gcd’s to more easily toss out blessings/FoL’s from time to time

I figured out what the problem is. Crusade flat out doesn’t work. And Avenging Wrath no longer let’s you use HoW on targets above 20% health. Unsure if that’s a bug or not, but PTR wings does not mention HoW in any fashion, while live wings does say they let you use HoW on any target.

Yeah, i doing slighty better playing Holy Blade (2HoPo BoJ) + TS over CSAA and Imp. BoJ.
