Im calling it

From Classic to the end of the World Soul Saga, it has been Thrall’s life story.

At the end of the World Soul Saga, Thrall will be killed off by sacrificing himself as expected and then the new neutral “leader” of both factions will be the estranged son or daughter of self exiled loner Anduin and the redeemed Sylvannas.

And the hellspawn will be mentored by non other than, you guessed it, Thrall’s son, who, conveniently, will be behind the scenes pulling the strings in WoW 2.0

Why? Because what better way for Chris Metzen to say “now is the time to come home” but for just three expansions, which ultimately lead to the rise of WoW 2.0.

Boom shakalaka.

Wouldn’t surprise me since Blizzard enjoys killing off Horde characters.

I will burn Stormwind to the ground personally. Alliences fault or not.

Metzen isn’t going to have near the pull or influence that many people like to think he is.

Blame Anduin, thats why he is self exiled. He had no choice at the behest of Thralls request to sacrifice him in order to “save azeroth” and now he cant live with himself.

So he figures what better way to try and fight through the guilt than to jump into the maw and fight for as long as he can and runs into Sylvannas and well…you know how it goes from there lol

WoW 2 will never happen. Retail and Classic are making them money, its already made. They don’t need to take a huge risk and waste 4-5 years of developing a new MMO. So many people would quit if they put WoW into maintenance mode. Too much of a gamble when they have a sure thing. Besides “WoW 2” happened in TBC. We’re going on to WoW 11 in less than a month.

As for Thrall dying, I hope not. Tired of them ruining and killing off Horde leaders. If anything, it is time for Jaina to kick the bucket.

This can’t come soon enough. As a returning player, it’s ridiculous to have to sift through several iterations of the game via Google and several iterations of those iterations in how things worked in trying to figure out how to simply even move around the world in the current state. If you drop a quest on a quest line you later need, it’s over Johnny.

Just used wowhead and sort comments by newest to oldest. Problem solved. WoW 2 will never happen. Hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of players, would quit. A WoW 2 means WoW goes into maintenance mode, it means players losing potentially up to 20 years of collections. It would literally kill WoW. Blizzard can be dumb, but it isn’t stupid.

Eh.

Thrall’s “Story” was largely pre-WoW, and then just Cata + WoD.

It will likely conclude with him and Anduin getting married and getting over their collective self-doubt together.

(Jokes, but seriously, the inevitable outcome is just him getting over himself and being able to use the Elements again, and there’s likely not much for him to do after that. He’s not the central Horde figure anymore).

WoW isn’t one cohesive plot thread in general.

Vanilla was just setup and worldbuilding.

TBC was Blizzard flying by the seat of their pants following the rule of cool, which is why so much of it has been fiddled with in later expansions (mostly Legion and novels).

WotLK was the conclusion to WCIII but is largely a standalone thing within the context of WoW.

Cata set the new baseline and IMO was the beginning of a more continuous plotline. In that this is where Thrall handed off Warchief to Garrosh. Not much came of that just yet, but it’s the beginning.

MoP was all the result of that. Garrosh is Warchief, he’s on the warpath, it results in the whole Sha thing exploding, and culminates in the Siege of Orgrimmar.

WoD was the direct result of Garrosh escaping after that and working with Bronze Dragons or whatever.

Legion was the direct result of WoD happening (because AU Gul’dan came to MU Azeroth because of those events).

BfA was the direct result of the end of Legion (Resource War stemming from Sargeras stabbing Azeroth).

Shadowlands is loosely linked by Sylvanas being ousted at the end of BfA and her being the one to break the veil or whatever, but frankly it was mostly it’s own thing and it probably didn’t need to be her, nor did the timing have to be after BfA’s events.

Dragonflight and the next 3 expansions will be the next big plotline. Dragonflight directly leads into the Worldsoul Saga thanks to Iridiwhatever and the Dark Heart + Xally.

So…

Vanilla → WotLK: Standalone Plots utilizing known locations and characters from the RTS
Cata → BfA: Legion-Centric Plot triggered by Garrosh due to Thrall’s lack of Foresight.
Shadowlands: Standalone Plot
Dragonflight → Worldsoul Saga: 2nd continuous plotline, we’ll see where it goes.

This is one of those conspiracy theories that sounds clever and sound in your head, but should probably be reread before you hit post.

Good, maybe he can take Jaina with him.

“From the studio who brought you Overwatch 2.0!”

Ha ha nope. Not gonna happen. No current properties are ever going to get a 2.0. Even with new franchises 8 years from now they’ll be gunshy about it.

No like… The quest to unlock lightforged draeini is bugged. It sends you to the spaceship that begins with a v on that planet that starts with an n or something. The portal wasn’t opening up but in storm went outside the embassy there is an NPC for me that had a purple ! Whose quest mentioned that spaceship. So I started doing it assuming I needed to open that up first in order for all this to work properly.

So I followed the quest line until it just became kill quests. Instead of taking the next quest, I wanted to go back and check to see if the lightforged beacon would spawn now.

It didn’t, so I decided to go back and pick up where I left off.

How to get back to that planet.

The most recent comments are about 2018 where it tells you to go to a portal on one of the bridges in stormwind and tells you exactly where it is. Of course none of you comments mention that you need to already be lightforged for this to work because in that iteration of the game anybody that would need that information was already lightforged. Not that the portal exists there anymore anyway even if I was fulfilling the requirements that the comments didn’t even mention because they were implied to anyone looking for said information.

This turns into 3 hours of absolute fruitless meandering around the world and a portal-less spaceship only looking down upon this world. I could turn this into a dissertation illustrating the problems and the compounding problems that happened because of how cluttered the game is in the various iterations.

Organizing newest comments only sometimes works. But not a lot of times.

WoW 2.0 is needed imo.

It hasn’t resolved around Thrall anymore since Legion, and it happened only in Cataclysm. In MoP he was absent until the very end as well.

Although important appearances, it is no longer centralized on him. Wrath of the Lich King for example wasn’t, neither was TBC.

Thrall already completed many arcs of his story. I don’t think Thrall will die, but I foresee a possible big time skip coming after the end of World Soul saga… but people are not ready to talk about this yet.

The closest WoW will ever get to a “2” will be another full revamp of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Just because something made you feel confused or wasted your time isn’t a good enough reason to scrap an entire game for people who’ve been playing and collecting things in it for up to 20 years.

I wouldn’t call for scrapping it. I would call for making a new game. Sometimes games have sequels. I’m sorry that makes you feel devalued in the time you put into the previous game.
