I’m bored of doing WoWs solo and open world content. I know its the expansion lull, but i just can’t help feeling frustrated with WoW.
Doing the same WQs and daily quests every day. Wheres the variety? We’re literally just running the same 20 quests for months.
Farming rares for mounts. This is basically all the world content there is anymore and it gets boring. When you’ve been killing the same 5 rares for 9 months just for a couple of mounts, It gets pretty dull.
Farming old content. I shouldn’t have to do this, just for something to do when I play WoW for more than an hour.
I really hope Shadowlands has better open world content going on. I really don’t understand how a billion dollar game company has the worst open world content in any mmo. I used to really love playing WoW, but if Shadowlands is this dull a month after release im probably going to have to hang up my armor for good
All he’s saying is there’s not enough to sustain that kind of content for 2 years. Is it an issue of variation? I don’t think so. There are a lot of WQs. They could be more different than they are but I think the real problem is the WQ system exists outside of the MMORPG experience. The lions share don’t require grouping with other people and while you may see other people in the world they may as well be wallpaper.
Contrast that with a game like EverQuest in 1999 where everyone was in the world interacting with each other out of necessity while they gained their xp, gold, items, so on and so forth.
Community in WoW exists but it exists behind instances. That’s why the world is so bad.
Let’s see,
there’s all the profession made armor you haven’t collected for mog.
Island expeditions
Pet battles, world wide
Archeology, world wide
Mask runs
Battle grounds
Brawlers guild
Mythic dungeons
Fishing tournament
Dark moon fair
Getting your main ready for Shadowlands
Or getting a character to 60 in Classic
And if none of that seems interesting, take a break.
I’m working on maxing out archeology for a second time, and finishing maxing out my profressions. I find I am never bored in WoW, and if I get bored I log off and watch tv or go do something.
WoWs been like that for many expansions.
I think its just how MMOs are. If you have a better idea, you could give them feedback here.
You said, worst open world content in any mmo, so you probably have seen some better dailies etc, so maybe give a few examples?
Hey I’ve been doing solo content since WoD. The guild I was in were all people I knew irl & I really don’t like doing content with people I don’t know. If I like a raid or a dungeon I’m willing to suck it up & PuG, but that’s it.
Seriously asking … what open world content do remember playing that was better in wow’s past? And vanilla leveling doesn’t count because you can’t compare a base game with 60 levels, and 40+ zones to the 7th or 8th expansion.
There’s even much less World quests in shadowlands, plus they take anywhere between 20 and 30 minutes to do each one. You’re in luck, you won’t be bored doing the same 20 World quests when they’re only will be about half that or even less in Shadowlands.
There’s absolutely nothing to do in the Maw on beta and that is supposed to be a zone end-game outdoor content.
If you’re bored now Shadowlands will offer you nothing new.
Yeah I agree. As a “world” it’s awfully ironic how little happens in it. Most content is instanced and has no impact on the world. This goes against the the ideology of a MMORPG.
Yep, anything of any consequence is behind an instance portal. I understand the dynamics that led to this, but it’d be nice if the devs put some thought into ways to make the world more relevant beyond the usual mandatory xpac feature grinds.
Maybe it’s not meant for you to keep playing and have fresh content all the time 24/7. Breaks are healthy. Everything in moderation. There are other bits of content, if all you do is wqs and dailies then that is on you.
Shadowlands has some more variety but all subjective to your likes/dislikes.
