Dude, I don’t know how to tell you this, but most people have not plowed through every zone, done every quest, got gold on every race, done all 8 dungeons on Mythic, got all Dragon glyphs, maxed out professions and hunted down all treasures in 7 frickin’ days. For most working adults, that list will take a MONTH, minimum. You are pigging out at an all-you-can-eat buffet and blaming the cooks for your stomach ache.
I played through Classic, what kept people on was meaningful rep grinds and dailies along with content that felt like you should stay logged on for hours to complete.
DF has none of this.
Lmao so you admit there’s only a month or less worth of content here, thank you for admitting that.
Okay, and your point?
I would rather play a game that accepts when it doesn’t have any more content I should complete rather than one that puts me on an endless treadmill. That’s been the chief complaint of the past few expansions.
Awesome! Enjoy it! When you see something shiny on the minimap while doing it, go off the beaten path and go grab them! While I know this xpac isn’t perfect, Blizz did spend a lot of time adding neat little things to the world. I got a 34 slot bag from under a waterfall the other day!
That’s the whole point of MMOs, go play something else and stop suggesting things if you don’t like MMOs.
Yeah BF and I went to get it and sat there putting out some toys to decorate the place
What “content” are you expecting here exactly?? 8 new dungeons has been the standard since Pandaria. The game came out ONE WEEK ago. Your concern is an insufficient amout of daily quests?? Really??
The whole point of an MMO is to play in a virtual world with thousands of other people. In no place is there a signed declaration that an MMO must have daily grinds to keep people playing.
Players can make their own fun if there’s a lack of content. Role playing, social events with guilds or friends. Things like that. The social aspect is what makes an MMO what it is.
If I wanted to play a game that force-feeds endless content to me on a conveyor belt I would be playing a mobile game.
Now THAT’s making your own fun in the game! Which is truly what mmo’s are about. They give you content to do, but doing things with others in game is kinda in the genre name.
I want more mandatory treadmills and grinds like SL/BfA. There’s nothing to do once you hit 70, people will get bored very quickly.
Nah that’s not the only point and even if that’s true sharding goes against it.
DF is a glorified lobby not an MMO.
I propose a happy medium. Would you be happy with a system kinda like d3 paragon levels? No player power tied to them, but do you just want a little progress bar to fill while playing the game? Let’s people who don’t want to grind monotonously go on about their day, and give’s you the ability to grind something endlessly
Welcome to the World of Warcraft of the past 10 years.
I don’t understand what kind of argument you’re making, here.
Sure, I mean anything is better than WoD aka Dragonflight.
Zero stuff to do rn.
That’s more a you problem than anything else, my guy.
Maybe you should just step away from the game if it’s boring you that much.
Then maybe that’s what we as players should ask for. A system that let’s people grind away endlessly without any player power attached to it so people who don’t want to endlessly grind stuff they don’t want to do, don’t have to. What kind of stuff makes you feel motivated to grind besides power? Would you want cosmetics attached? Maybe some open world QoL stuff to work towards?
Not sure blizz would like this idea, but what if you could earn a wow token in game once every like 3 months with the system? You’d either get a free month or a nice chunk of gold. Doesn’t hurt anyone, would probably bring prices of the token down considerably and actually reduce inflation in game, but again blizz might not like that lol
So tell me what is there to do that isn’t cosmetic?
Just bring back SL/BfA style currency grinds and power grinds, and legendaries would be great incentive too.
Nope. Power grinds are that require specific content to be done are bad. We need something that appeals to more people
Even those power grinds run out after a time and you’d be in the same spot saying “I did everything, there’s nothing to do”. So, that doesn’t solve your problem either.
