Can someone give a definitive answer on what the requirements for mythics and mythic + my main currently has a 435 ilvl and I’ve been trying to get into base mythic and mythic +1 but apparently that isn’t enough to qualify for mythics.
I use to be able to do Mythics with a 380 ilvl as the Nazjatar/Mechagon update released. So yeah, what’s with this cycle of “Gotta be geared to get gear?”
To get into someone else’s group doesn’t have a minimum requirement. It takes being among the 4 people they choose using whatever criteria they want.
If you are struggling to get into groups then just make your own for a m0 and you will get a key. If you do freehold or underot higher geared people will sometimes join trying for the mounts. It’s less common in kings rest.
If you are doing mythics on the druid you respond with, you have a 40+ ilvl difference than the character I am referring too, so that’s probably why you don’t have a problem and I do.
there isn’t one. I was doing +10s on my disc priest at 410 illvl. That’s not a humblebrag, but just saying there isn’t some unspoken requirement. I have never had anyone ask me what my ilvl is after hosting my own content.
That said, ilvl just doesn’t have as much value in the same way. The expectation is already that you are supposed to out gear the content you’re doing, even for lower keys. This is mostly due to the inflation that corruption has brought to the game. So, if you’re trying todo content that rewards 445 gear, then the expectation is that you’re at least 445 or higher.
If you aren’t getting people to join the groups you’re making… then something else is wrong.
That doesn’t account for how before certain updates people were under 100 ilvls and still capable of doing mythics. So this “Must have gear to get gear” elitism is completely asinine.
They increase the difficulty & the ilvl of the gear drops of Mythics every single patch cycle. So I don’t see how you think you’re still capable of running current Mythic 0s in your previous ilvl (380) gear.
That would be like going into the next expansion and expecting to be able to raid in Mythic Ny’alotha gear in Shadowlands. The game continues to increase ilvl and difficulty regardless of whether you’re playing or not.
I hate to break this to you, but this game is full of elitist jerks. If your Raider IO score isn’t high, they won’t invite you regardless of your iLVL.
It’s not a question of whether you’re capable of completing the content, it’s a question of how you compare to other people who are applying for the same position. Think of it from the group leader’s perspective. He/she is trying to fill a DPS spot, and has a page full (maybe more) of applicants, all perfect strangers, and all with much higher ilevels than you, and more current season dungeon experience than you. Is it really any mystery that they would choose someone else?
Does it suck? Sure, but you have plenty more you can work on solo. Emissary gear goes up to 445, and gear from Horrific Visions goes all the way up to 470. LFR, which drops the same ilevel as M0, is queueable. As other posters have suggested, if you start your own M0 group, I doubt anyone would balk at joining. It may take a bit to fill just because many people have moved beyond that content, but stick with it. You can make it happen. =)
Are you inviting people with a similar ilvl or IO score as you have? Or are you inviting the highest ilvl or highest IO score people you can find and then getting upset that they’re not giving you free carry?
Because ilvl has no correlation with competence or experience anymore. For example why do faceroll emissaries give equivalent normal quality raid gear ?
The raider IO and M+ score system is a community-driven solution created out of necessity because blizzard continues to separate powerful rewards from challenging content.
Anyways as always you DPS folk literally have no idea of the mountain of competition you face for M+ keys of all levels. You are literally a drop in the ocean compared to the tank population, and that tank population is shrinking by the day with blizzard’s design decisions and how pugs treat tanks.
If you spent half as much time working on improving your raider io score and ilvl as you do complaining about ‘elitist jerks’ you would likely find that all of your complaints aren’t real. Unless you’re just not good.
