Ilvl 181 and still weaker than my 90 lol

looking on the AH the only gear enchant I could find to help Mastery adds 16 per enchant. Adding two of them brings my mastery up to 8.23%
ugh.

I’ve noticed that the four characters I’ve leveled to 60 all seemed to do much better in bgs when they were scaled up than later when they actually hit 60.

It’s been fairly noticeable. You’d think that not having all the talents yet and soulbinds and conduits, they’d do worse 50-59, but this didn’t seem to be the case. So it’s weird. After hitting 60, all my characters took a dive in performance, and then it’s been a long grind to gear up just to get close to how they felt while I was leveling them to 60.

I think there may be a stat scaling issue in this case.

sounds like pretty much exactly what my experience has been.

Versatility and gear is hugely important this expac. Thankfully most of the PVP gear has the desired stat combos you’d want.

oh for god sake…seriously?
I know Ive dumped some versatility for haste and crit strike.
Maybe that wasnt a good idea.

For PVP absolutely. Unless you like dying in a sub rogue’s opener.

I’ve gone full PvP gear, with all the versatility it offers.

But my point is that all my characters from 50 to 59, that were not wearing PvP gear while I leveled, felt much stronger before hitting 60. For whatever reason.

I agree with that. My 56 FDK at 107 feels very tanky despite only having 9% vers.

Are you killing mobs as resto or boomkin/feral? I have a hard time believing that if you’re feral/boomkin. They absolutely demolish right now.

I do agree the squish/scaling is absolutely horrible.

all solo content as resto. And on my lowbie resto doing just fine at it. Its the high level thats struggling.

All my gear has been chosen to make resto as good as possible.

Yeah that’s really weird then. I’m gonna have to chalk that down to terrible scaling. It should be noted I leveled up LW/skinning while leveling my monk, and capped out on LW around level 54. I was able to craft all the gear that would immediately upgrade my ilvl up which helped me a lot and I didn’t feel anything wrong. But fact remains squish/scaling is horrible as people’s complaints make it clear when clearing Legion content.

I think someone mentioned it may be class/spec specific too. but When Ive swapped over to guardian I get my rump stomped just as quickly. Ive written that off to having chosen my gear based on resto, but it still feels like Im getting trashed WAY too easy.
I dont think Ive had to use this much healing and mitigation since I started playing other than those elites in Argus that hit really hard.

Depends on Affinity. I personally wouldn’t quest in Resto, but with Feral or Boombox Affinity, damage shouldn’t be an issue. And if you’re packing Convoke the Spirits in your back pocket, elites get melted.

Since scaling is outright broken, the only way I can have fun is to play the worst class and covenant in the game and to focus on “lipstick on a pig content”. End result? An ilvl 189 Necrolord Vengeance DH that is doing much more older content than SL content.

I did some of the upgrading on my covenant gear and FINALLY it APPEARS that my 60/189 is MAYBE getting to the same feeling of power in fights that my 55/90 feels like, lol
Took them both out and did various things a bit ago and FINALLY they feel somewhat similar.

ridiculous

Actually it’s haste, THEN mastery. Remember you can’t have all 3 hots on multiple people so mastery loses effectiveness quickly the more people you add. Even in a 5 man it’s second to haste, much less raid.

It’s probably better in the long run to check sites like icy-veins and wowhead regularly on your spec so you can have a good idea on what stats and gear you should be after :+1:

Im sure my mastery is low…but the lowbie character is just as bad, if not worse.
They gotta figure this crap out soon or I think Im just holding out till the END of each expansion to bother with it when gearing up takes a week, lol

Having open world mobs constantly scale to your ilvl was always terrible, lazy design. Always will be too.

Thats the thing I dont get.
How hard can it be to say “lower = weaker…higher = stronger” ?
I mean jesus…just put a buff in there when we get higher level/ilvl if its that frikkin complex, lol
