Illuminated Thoughts Question

Do we know if the increase to the Clearcasting proc rate from the Illuminated Thoughts talent node is additive or multiplicative? In other words is it a flat 5% increase or 5% of the base value? Because it’s a huge difference. For example, at a 10% base rate one would be 15% and the other 10.5%. As usual the tooltip is incredibly opaque and unclear.

Some folks have been anecdotally reporting a higher rate of Clearcasting procs since today’s update but nothing has been officially stated by Blizzard. If they quietly changed how Illuminated Thoughts works that would be one possible explanation.

it’s much higher today, I REALLY liked where it gets us. I’ve been sour, but they made me think the possibilities are bright. I did have issues getting to an additional CC proc after Aether Attunement is up, and you’ve got only 30 seconds to use it or lose it, which I hope they rethink. One issue I’m personally having is reflexively hitting Arcane Explosion in close range and eating the next CC proc that should have been used for attunement. I think I can eventually train myself to do better, but still would like that buff to stick around long enough to ensure it gets used on missiles. Anyway, play around with it, today is better.

I do believe it’s additive, so a strait +5% chance.

It really is a lot higher! I finally got a chance to log in and try it out. I am just really confused on what caused it to suddenly jump so much higher since they didn’t officially announce changing anything and all the relevant in-game tooltips haven’t changed either. They must have shadow buffed the base proc rate. I hope it stays this way and it isn’t something they unintentionally did.

I’m almost 100 percent sure it was bugged before and not procing like it should of been.

Hero talents will also add additional sources of Clearcasting generation at lvl 80.

Before it was actually reducing the chance to proc by 5%.

There is one additional source, and it’s the last node in the Sunfury tree. Unless I missed something, Spellslinger Arcane mages will not have any additional sources of Clearcasting.

THAT’S what it was? So literally just a sloppy coding error? No wonder they fixed it under the radar, lol.

Funnier yet, Chrono Shift was incorrectly increasing CC proc rate by 50% on beta at one point.

yes they have but again is RNG

Casting shifthing power cast 8 splinters , so the chance of orb is high ,thats another way to gain charges back.
