Illidan Only

Why is this the harder group to find for the TW event surely other people are going through their alt’s trying to get Ashes of Al’ar out of the box for the quest?

If someone is dead set on trying for ashes, wouldn’t they just do the eye?

Better chance to get it from this quest I’ve been doing The Eye/Tempest Keep for 16 years on several characters and it’s never dropped

The TW raid cache has a higher chance for rare mounts than doing eye. It’s like 5-10% in box

I guess everyone has their glaives and/or retired their DHs.

Black Temple was banging during Legion.

Because with a bad group, that raid can be an all day thing.

There’s no point to doing an Illidan only run when you get massive upgrades off the other bosses as well. Remember, this is the start of the season.

Once we’re towards the end of the season and all the drops from the other bosses become totally useless, that’s when you’ll see the Ilidan skip runs come back.

Massive upgrades that will be replaced in a couple of weeks

Not for the casuals with limited access to 490/500+ gear. Which just so happen to be the predominant playerbase for TW gearing.

The new season dropping this week definitely has something to do with it. You have casuals who will want to run every TW raid full, if possible, for upgrades; but, in the season’s start you also have more hardcore players running it in full for that little ilvl leap they can get.

You could always try starting your own goup, I’m sure you’ll get others who just want to down Illidan.

Apparently it’s 25%.

At least, it is for Cata Timewalking. I assume it’s the same for all raid Timewalking caches.

I found a group, killed Illidan, and even got one of the best former healing weapons in the game to drop - only to find out that despite the increased ilvl, the weapon sucks now due to them not updating the stats appropriately compared to it’s original version.

I also got a Heroic-track leg item, only to find out that timewalking gear can’t be used in the catalyst to convert to tier.

They increased the ilvl of timewalking gear yet so many items still have horrible itemization or artificial barriers that prevent them from realistically being used. In the few rare cases that a good item slips through, it’s usually nerfed. Maybe that’s part of the reason why so few people care to do these raids?
