Just did an arena with a warrior spell reflecting Shadow Word Pain on my priest. Hmm when is the bot ban coming?
…Huh?
They could have popped Spell Reflect pre-emptively and just got your SW:P. Reflections don’t require a cast bar.
Maybe you just got unlucky?
I’d be more impressed than anything if someone could write a script that activated spell reflect in time to hit an instant cast spell.
It’s not sunday yet. Stop it.
I don’t know about player characters since I don’t PVP, but I got kinda decent at spell reflecting the shwp of npcs based on how much time was left on the debuff.
Shadow Word Pain is a spell.
No way to react to a SWP as a warrior to reflect, even as a bot. instant cast, instant effect. You just tried to SWP a warrior who had spell reflect already up.
Sounds like someone just got owned by a warrior.
Yeah, dont think you can script something like that.
Even auto kickers needed to have a cast to go off of. If you fire your spell, the reflect can’t trigger after.
Look into the bigauras WA pack, big help in pvp, pun not intended.
People tend to have similar habits about what they’re going to cast next, Shaman hits me with Flame Shock more than likely the next spell that is going to hit is a Lava Burst I would Spell Reflect right then too. If you have a noticeable pattern or go by strat guides, they generally tell you what order to cast it becomes dead pan predictable.
First cast of the match. SWP is an instant and yes scripts can be written to do this (illegaly). Not going into details. This is not an intelligent script for obvious reasons.
I pressed swp , the warrior hit spell at the exact same time, then proceeded to charge. Happened again in a different round.
$30 for NOT REAL please.
No the warrior did not win.
It’s either them bumbling into success, or you being way too predictable. Back when rogues could vanish spellcasts, even instants, half the time it boiled down to sheer luck. There was a small measure of skill to it knowing when the player likely would try to throw out a coil, or a blind and vanishing appropriately. However, end of the day if the player was slightly slow you wasted it.
In Classic I had many times where I vanished spellcasts entirely trying to do it and just getting lucky my prediction was correct, there were also many times where I vanished things I wasn’t even intending to vanish and it just aligned that way. I.E vanishing to break a frost nova just as a warrior out of nowhere charges me and I vanish the charge. Was utterly unintentional but it still worked out.
Not buying it. Happened twice at unintelligent times. Instantly bro. Bad scripting for cheating. Bans will be coming.
Yeah I don’t think you understand how bad the average player in this game actually is. I’ve had A LOT of fights I’ve lost because I end up outplaying myself and the player is dogwater. Hell I’ve also literally won fights by playing like complete garbage because they have no idea wtf I’m doing and how do you predict what someone is going to do to react preemptively when that player doesn’t even know wtf they’re doing? I’ve also watched healers literally juke themselves to death because I just sat on kick and they kept fake casting waiting for me to waste it and I just wasn’t going to press it nor was I giving them any breathing room.
In WoD on monk I had something that most people would consider “godlike prediction” when it was sheer luck in arena. I was spamming Touch of Death back when it was an execute on the healer for when he fell in range. Warrior intervenes JUST as I can hit touch of death, the warrior goes from 100% to instantly dead because he eats it instead of the healer, healer is sitting at 10% hp like “Uh oh.” That was an insane play but it was far from intended, the actuality of it was I was spamming 12 on my mouse while pressing other keys like “Cmon, f-ing die already.”
Happens in League too. Run in with Hecarim charge for a gank top lane, hit him and immediately ult in the ballpark of where he’s going to flash because any decent player is going to instantly flash to get out of that scuffle with the most HP possible as to not back to base. He instead has the reaction time of a box turtle so I waste my ult because he for some reason takes 2 seconds longer to flash in Silver than any player in Master or Challenger.
Dumb question.
Can hunter traps still be spell reflected or did they change that? I’m curious.
Source: trust me bro
I would presume so. Playing a hunter I am leveling right now and just throwing it out on a mob it was a magic effect.
