With the auto-rotation coming next patch, I love the theme of warlock but can’t stand all the tab targetting for affliction and destro. I’ll take a DPS loss for a huge QoL if it smartly auto-targets mobs that doesn’t have DoTs.
No, the one-button does not target enemies for you.
Learn how to target enemies with mouse and to use mouseover.
i just wich the 1 button do the right rotation spell, cause else will suck badly like in the ptr.
Use Plater. Adjust size of nameplates. Mouseover cast.
Yea, exactly!!
Instead of manually applying aff dots, tab targeting, or doing some mouseover garbo, im going 1 rotation and it will completely remove that trash playstyle and i can actually enjoy playing the game! Woot!!!
I use a Razer Tartarus with tab mapped to the forward facing directional button and I love it. Tabbing is second nature to me, the only time it is iffy is in super thick packs but can’t imagine any target selection would be any better.
I haven’t tab-targeted in years in warlock. On my prot warrior sure.
Got used to mouse-over macros and mouse-over turned on in game. Have too many spells on one key that changes when I swap talents/spec.
I don’t feel I wanna give up control to the game deciding which mobs should be next.
Many times, even as destro with Cata on CD, I can’t Wither every mob. Nor do I need to. Just prioritize mobs like mini bosses and dangerous casters within an AoE pack. And usually the highest health mob to get the haste buff since low health I’ll be sniping.
I’m still all for the new accessibility features because it can only make life better.
The element of manual dotting is a dead playstyle and needs to be replaced for a more streamlined system. The one button solution will open the eyes to nearly every person that plays aff warlocks and how bad they have it for decades bc the 1% doesnt want it to change.
Thats why they are saying “dont play the 1 button, dont play the 1 button!!!” Not bc its bad, but bc they dont want you to know how bad the spec is regarding dotting.
Just watch.
Problem is already solved for PvP with Jinx talent.
I am ok with them reducing the cooldown of Vile Taint talent to 15 sec and removing the Curse of Exhaustion just so we have reliable Agony applicator.
One button rotation will be dreadful for Demo, as you need to time your demons for the Tyrant.
To be fair, Blizzards default nameplates are god awful and make mouseover near impossible
It has a “stacked” option but really it just crams them all to the top of the screen and overlaps anyway.
And for some reason it won’t allow any nameplates to go lower than the mobs position on your screen. So when you want them stacked it only has the top half of the screen to work with. Just terrible
I don’t know what the solution is with current game design of M+
Big pulls are a nightmare while the warlock is constantly moving, therefore relative nameplate positions change.
Sure addons / profiles make it easier to see important casts to interrupt or targets to focus DoT… but you need accurate cursor control. Something that only comes with the frustration of practice.
What makes it worse this season for everyone is some mobs being immune to AoE stuns - they just keep casting, or if can’t be stun/interrupted, go right back to spam casting anyways and your relatively long Spell Lock / Shadowfury (with a stupid cast time) is ‘wasted’ even the times you didn’t double-interrupt to put it on CD.
That new combat targeting is decent. I swapped all my macros to that instead of the /targetenemy [noharm] and its nice. It’s still a little goofy at times but you can still tab if you need to.
